Who Is Political Analyst Angela Rye’s Rumored New Boo, Karim Webb?
Angela Rye has a new man! Just months after splitting with rapper Common, she’s cozying up to another activist and business owner, Karim Webb. The political maven and socialite hinted that she and the Webb are dating when she shared a photo of the two on her social media account.
Angela Rye dated rapper and activist, Common
Rye and Common first made their relationship known when they attended the 69th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards as a couple. Six months later, they split initially for the first time in March 2018.
By Spring of this year, Common confirmed they were back together after photos of the two surfaced on the internet. The rapper spoke with The Breakfast Club about their reconciliation and said that after going to therapy to work through some personal issues, as well as getting advice from Michelle Obama, he was able to convince Rye to give him a second shot. He told the radio hosts at the time,
“We dated and then I had to get myself together and she was doing some work. She’s a strong cookie, but she’s good people and really a good balance and fun, too. I need a partner who is fun because we go out there and do the work and constantly, I’m living out the things I’m passionate about. But so many times I’m talking about the things that are going on in the world, serious things in life, so I just need somebody that’s like, we can just talk and have fun.”

When the pair first split, Rye told Page Six, “We have and will always be friends. He is an amazing human being, and I’m a much better person because he’s a part of my life. May we all keep loving and living.”
She’s recently been spotted with a new beau.
Angela Rye rumored to be dating restaurant owner and activist, Karim Webb
It looks like Rye has moved on. Though it’s unclear when she and Common split, over the Christmas holiday, she shared a post to her Instagram account with a mystery boo, captioned, “What a gift you are.” The YBF shared the post from Rye’s story. The two appeared to be on a tropical vacation, enjoying time in an infinity pool.
The mystery man is restaurateur Karim Webb. A graduate of the historically black all-male college, Morehouse College, Webb owns several Buffalo Wild Wings franchises in the Los Angeles area. The YBF also notes that Webb established the first full-service restaurant in South Los Angeles since the 1992 LA riots.
Rye was first seen with the father of three in November. Webb participated at a conference, AftoTech, that Rye moderated. According to the conference’s website, AfroTech is “a revolutionary experience for Black techies, startups and entrepreneurs returns! Come join 10,000+ of your fellow founders, entrepreneurs, and engineers as we scale our collective power in culture, innovation, and tech.”
The panel Webb spoke on was titled “Black + Green: Black Economic Power In The Cannabis Industry.” He has the credentials to give insight into finance as his background is a mixture of finance and activism, in addition to his restaurant businesses.
His profile on AfroTech lists his career highlights in detail. Webb is CEO of 4thMVMT, a LA-based social equity initiative that seeks, vets, trains, finances and partners with individuals from communities who have been heavily impacted by the application of criminal justice, to own and operate competitive retail businesses.
He’s also an advisor to the Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance (MFHA) and sits on a number of non-profit boards.
It’s unclear when he and Rye began dating but he did wish her a happy 40th birthday on Instagram in October.
