LaToya Ali is known to many pop culture aficionados as a YouTube sensation, but her tenure on The Real Housewives of Atlanta is earning her many fans — in spite of the fact that her messy personal life has several parallels to other Real Housewives stars who have been publicly demoted.
LaToya Ali is a new addition to the cast of ‘RHOA’
Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta premiered on television in late 2020. The new season brought a lot of changes to the familiar show’s format, including two new additions: Ali and Drew Sidora.
At the time of the season 13 premiere, only Sidora was a peach holder, with Ali being introduced initially as a friend to the show. Sidora helped to take over for Eva Marcille, and is an accomplished singer and actor in her own right, having appeared in multiple television projects over the years.
As for Ali, she was a longtime friend of RHOA star Kandi Burruss and had appeared in several episodes of the show over the past several seasons. Still, her role as a friend to the show opened more doors for her. Soon, many pop culture fans were eager to learn more about the talented and beautiful entertainer.
What is LaToya Ali best known for?
Ali might be better known to the social media community as “LaToya Forever.” That’s the name of her popular YouTube channel, where she boasts several million subscribers.
On the channel, Ali features a range of topics, from videos about her day-to-day family life to clothing hauls and lifestyle videos. Ali has featured her children on the channel many times and has given them credit for helping to boost the channel’s popularity: “If it wasn’t for them, the show wouldn’t be as successful as it is now.”
Unfortunately, Ali’s personal life isn’t as glowing as it seems to be on YouTube. In September 2020, Ali announced that she and her husband were divorcing.
According to reports, Ali’s husband had issues with the couple’s children being featured in public videos and on reality television, and that was one of the contributing factors of their split. The couple has had issues in the past — reportedly, they even started the process for divorce when Ali was pregnant with one of their children, but ended up calling it off.

Many other stars of the Real Housewives franchise have made headlines for their messy divorces and family situations. Most notably, Jennifer Davis Long, who rose to fame on The Real Housewives of Dallas, is speculated to have been demoted from series regular to a “friend of the show” after her divorce forced her to pull back from filming and devote less of her time to The Real Housewives of Dallas.
At this time, it isn’t clear whether Ali’s own divorce will cause her to lessen her time on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, her personal life is certainly making headlines, prompting many fans to wonder about her future on the hit franchise.
