Who Did Joan Vassos Give the First Impression Rose to on ‘The Golden Bachelorette’?
Joan Vassos had some hard decisions to make last night on the premiere episode of The Golden Bachelorette. Still, the Maryland-based mother of four didn’t seem to struggle when picking the man who would get her first impression rose. Joan confidently handed out the rose, and we can totally see why she chose the recipient.
Who did Joan Vassos give her first impression rose to?
The men of The Golden Bachelorette did not disappoint when it came to their entrances. One suitor showed up blindfolded, while another offered soup he had prepared. Another still appeared on horseback while another serenaded Joan. None of those men made a big enough impression to get Joan’s first impression rose, though.
Joan gave Keith Gordon, a self-proclaimed “girl dad,” her first impression rose. Gordon drove up in a station wagon and offered Vassos a beach date with the hatchback open. She was instantly smitten with the California native. It seems the first impression rose decision wasn’t a hard one for her.
Several fan favorites are emerging already
While we are still in the early days of the competition, fans have quickly picked out the contestants they prefer. Even before he stepped out of the final limo, Mark Anderson, Kelsey Anderson’s father, was a front-runner. Fans have been vying for the widower to become the next golden bachelor since he appeared during his daughter’s hometown date on Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor.
Viewers took to social media to point out how kind and genuine Charles Ling, a retired financial analyst, appeared. Jack Lencioni, a caterer, and Guy Gansert, a doctor, were also heavily discussed by fans. While Keith Gordon has plenty of fans, Mark Anderson still appears to be the fan favorite, at least thus far.
Have recipients ever won “The Bachelorette’?
While the first impression rose does not guarantee a contestant will win the competition, it is a good indication that they’ll hang around in the mansion for at least a few weeks. Several first impression rose winners have gone on to win the competition completely.
Rachel Lindsay gave Bryan Abasolo her first impression rose during season 13 of The Bachelorette. Abasolo and Lindsay left the series engaged and married in 2019. That first impression rose didn’t ensure they would be together forever, though. While the couple married in 2019, they have since split. Their divorce is getting contentious.
The following season, Garrett Yrigoyen accepted Becca Kufrin’s first impression rose. He went on to win the competition, and while the couple were engaged for two years, they never made it down the aisle. They split in 2020. Kaitlyn Bristowe and Ali Fedotowsky both picked their first impression rose recipients in their respective seasons, too.
The Golden Bachelorette viewers won’t know if the first impression rose winner leaves with Joan Vassos anytime soon. The series premiered on Sept. 18 and is expected to run for at least eight weeks.
