Who Was Brad Pitt’s Mystery Date at the 2020 Oscars?
Brad Pitt is having a serious moment and movie buffs are here for it. At the 2020 Oscars, the accomplished actor walked away with the first award of the night. Even after a heartfelt acceptance speech, many took to social media asking the bigger question: who did Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor bring as his date? It wasn’t Jennifer Aniston (sorry), but here’s what we know.
Brad Pitt won his first Oscar for acting
It’s hard to imagine Hollywood without Brad Pitt. It’s even harder to imagine he’s never won an Oscar for acting. Gasp. Considering he’s the man behind hits like Legends of the Fall, Fight Club, Seven, Moneyball, and more, that fact seems unlikely. But, it’s true.
The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star previously took home a golden statue for producing the 2014 “Best Picture” film, 12 Years a Slave. However, the 2020 Oscars garnered Pitt’s first award for Supporting Actor in the Quentin Tarantino flick. It’s about time.
The father of six took to the stage to thank his children saying, “This is for my kids, who color everything I do. I adore you.”
While all of that is endearing enough to add to his Tinder profile, many were far more concerned with the bigger issue at hand: Pitt’s date.
Fans thought Pitt’s date was his mom
Long before Pitt rushed to the stage to accept his Oscar, social media set afire about the woman sitting next to the star.
“BRAD PITT BROUGHT HIS MOM AS HIS DATE,” one fan tweeted. “I hope Brad Pitt wins Best Supporting Actor because I want to hear his acceptance speech and see his Mom beam. #Oscars,” another said.
“cami and leo sitting next to brad pitt and his mom….. i need to.. be there… to discuss…. things,” this fan said, while another also took a guess saying, it’s “his sister.”
“Did Brad Pitt bring his mom to the Oscars?” another excited viewer tweeted. And the comments go on and on. Since neither Pitt nor his mom have Instagram accounts, it took a bit to come together.
Pitt previously said he couldn’t bring his mom to an award show because “any woman I stand next to, they say I’m dating. It would just be awkward.”
Pitt’s mother, Jane, worked as a school counselor in their home state of Missouri. The woman accompanying him was not his mother, but someone just as important.
Who was Pitt’s date?
The mystery woman who snagged the world’s most coveted date is none other than Pitt’s longtime manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante. When the camera panned across the row across Pitt, Pett-Dante, Leonardo DiCaprio, and his date, Camila Morrone, there was a clear view of Pitt and his “date.”
Pett-Dante, who also doesn’t appear to have an Instagram page, co-owns the talent management company, Brillstein Entertainment Partners. She’s repped big names like Rami Malek, Courtney Cox, Elizabeth Olsen, Charlie Hunnam, and more.
With the mystery now solved, maybe everyone can stop Googling Jane Pitt and take comfort in the fact that Pitt may still be single after all.
