Why Ashton Kutcher Was ‘Angry’ With Demi Moore for Hurting His Relationship With Her Kids
Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were in a relationship from 2003-2011. Throughout their relationship, Kutcher became extremely close to Moore’s three daughters, Tallulah, Scout, and Rumer. It got to the point where he became like an actual father figure for the girls, and they all shared a meaningful relationship.
Yet when Moore’s daughters estranged themselves from her, Kutcher was “angry” with his then-wife for jeopardizing his relationship with the girls. He even went so far as to blame Moore for the estrangement.
Why did Demi Moore’s daughters stop talking to her for years?
In Moore’s 2019 memoir Inside Out, she opens up about how her three daughters stopped talking to her for multiple years. According to the Ghost star, there were several reasons her daughters broke contact with her, yet one of the main reasons was Kutcher.
As Moore reveals in her book, her children felt neglected when she was married to the Punk’d star. According to the Brat Pack member, she became codependent with Kutcher and thus didn’t focus enough on her three kids.
She writes, “I think the girls were angry I’d become so dependent on Ashton- I was addicted to him, is the best way I can put it. And I did all the things that addicts do. I prioritized my addiction over my needs and the needs of my family. I made strange, unconvincing justifications for my behavior- and his.”
As a result of her addiction to Kutcher, her family began to “crumble.”

According to Moore, Kutcher was not happy when Tallulah, Scout, and Rumer stopped talking to her. Considering he had developed such a close and meaningful bond with her kids, he felt that Moore had hurt his relationship with them.
“Having two of my daughters not speaking to me was new and unprecedented and awful,” Moore writes. “It threatened the thing I was proudest of. My role as a mom. And I just plain missed my kids.”
“Ashton was angry,” she continues. “He felt that I had hurt his relationship with the girls.”
Is Ashton Kutcher still in touch with Demi Moore’s daughters?
Although Moore and Kutcher went through a messy divorce in 2011, Kutcher is still very close with her daughters.
While speaking on the WTF podcast, Kutcher said, “I was helping raise teenage girls through their adolescence. I love them, and I’m never going to stop loving them and respecting them and honoring them, and rooting for them to be successful.”
“I’m not their father. I was never trying to be their father,” Kutcher continued. “I always had respect and honored Bruce, and I think he’s a brilliant human being and a wonderful man. If they don’t want an engagement with me, I’m not going to force it upon them, but they all do, and it’s great.”
Are the ‘Ghost’ star’s daughters talking to her again?
Thankfully, Tallulah, Scout, and Rumer are talking to Moore again, and they have an extremely close relationship now.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Tallulah wrote about how much she adores her mother.
“I didn’t talk to my mom for almost three years, and during that shattered time, this day would transport me from fragmented pieces to absolute dust,” she writes. “I remember tearing up driving to work upon hearing a radio ad that cheerily recommended which ‘perfume Mom would absolutely adore.'”
“However, my story changed,” she continues. “Through a metamorphosis of inward self-reflection and malleability to forgive, three years did not stretch to forever.”
Now, they are closer than ever before.
