Why Bethenny Frankel Gives This TV Star ‘Full Credit’ For Launching Her Podcast
Former Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel recently launched her new podcast Just B With Bethenny and is already gaining a multitude of listeners. While she’s an uber successful entrepreneur, Frankel gave props to a well-known television personality for helping her get the show up and running.
‘RHOBH’ alum gives a shout out to Bravo TV king
Premiering on September 29, Frankel’s podcast features some high-profile guests including Mark Cuban, Hillary Clinton, Paris Hilton, and Netflix CMO Bozoma Saint John. The RHOBH alum revealed that her former Bravo TV colleague prompted her to start the new venture.
“You know who gets full credit for that? Andy Cohen,” Frankel told Decider in September 2020. “He’s the one who called me last year, and he was like, ‘You need to have a podcast.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know. What do you mean? Do I have time?’”
Cohen encouraged the Skinnygirl mogul to take on the challenge and helped her overcome her initial trepidation.
“He’s like, ‘Bethenny. You’re going to kill it. You need to do it,'” Frankel shared, further singing Cohen’s praises. “So I’m giving Andy Cohen full credit. Not only does he make reality stars, he literally is the reason for me doing this. I give him full, full credit. We just got off the phone. I’m like, ‘Dude. You’re the only one who said this to me.’ So I want to shout him out.”
Bethenny Frankel features ‘game changers’ on her podcast
Focusing on influential personalities rather than tabloid headliners, Frankel is going for more than idle chatter on her show.
“It’s not about gossip, it’s not about who someone’s dating or, you know, anything nonsense,” she told Entertainment Tonight in September 2020. “It’s all about, like, explaining how people got to where they are. These people are all game changers, they are all visionaries, you know, geniuses, billionaires … I really only have people on who have really made a mark in this world … so there’s so much that people aren’t getting anywhere else.”
Frankel’s all-star lineup includes business icons, politicians, sports owners, and celebrities.
“Mark Cuban, he is a tech entrepreneur and billionaire genius,” she said of her all-star lineup. “Maria Shriver’s not a celebrity, she’s a world-renowned journalist that has interviewed presidents on Air Force One. … Andy Cohen has built an iconic franchise. John Paul DeJoria has Patrón and created Paul Mitchell from living out of his car.”
‘Just B with Bethenny’ provides inspiration to listeners
The millionaire entrepreneur noted that her guests on the show share several commonalities she would never have expected. Frankel’s sit-downs with such a variety of people offer listeners some valuable guidance in their own endeavors.
“People can literally take one thing from each of these [guests] and create their own entrepreneurial recipe,” she told Decider. “That’s what I think is going to be fascinating. Nobody knew that all these people have these similarities. That’s what makes a successful person. Giving them all the wisdom to put together their own recipe.”
Frankel is hoping to inspire listeners to pursue their own dreams, and is thrilled to be focusing on matters of significance.
“I’ll be helping more entrepreneurs start more businesses and be more successful and know what it takes and what the failures are and the mistakes,” she commented. “I don’t mean this to pat myself — I just mean, what a good thing to not talk about garbage! We do talk about plastic surgery, believe it or not, but not talk about superficiality and just gossip and nonsense, instead of just helping.”
Just B with Bethenny Frankel is now available on Apple Podcasts.
