Chip and Joanna Gaines, the Texas couple who shot to fame with their HGTV show, Fixer Upper, have embarked on many business ventures since their show pushed them into the spotlight. Besides starring in the HGTV show for five seasons, the couple also opened a home market, restaurant, bakery, and launched a magazine, along with dabbling in a few other business concepts. But now, the couple is considering moving their headquarters to a new location.

Joanna Gaines started her original Magnolia Market in 2003, but relaunched it in 2014

When Chip and Joanna got married, they immediately started their construction business together. But Joanna always loved home décor and design, so in 2003, she launched Magnolia Market. It started as a small shop in Waco where she could sell design pieces she had restored or collected through the years. However, after Chip and Joanna had their second child, the construction and remodeling business had taken off. Joanna decided to focus 100% on the business, so she closed down Magnolia Market. But once their television show got picked up and the two shot to fame, Joanna said she always felt like something was still missing. In 2014, she reopened Magnolia Market, this time calling it Magnolia Market at the Silos.

The couple offered $1.1 million on a property in downtown Waco

Along with Magnolia Market, the couple still owns their Magnolia home remodeling and construction business, which was their original business endeavor. Its headquarters is a bit far out from the Silos. Now, Chip and Joanna have made a $1.1 million offer on a three-story property in the heart of downtown Waco. The building is roughly 90 years old and in need of some renovations, but it’s nothing this hands-on couple can’t handle. The couple has made an offer for a few reasons: It’s a beautiful space, it’s downtown, and it may spur more development in that part of Waco, which would boost Waco’s economy.

The new Magnolia headquarters would make everything more accessible

A major plus to moving the headquarters would be the proximity to the Silos. The new location would be just five blocks from Magnolia Market. This would make the back and forth much easier for employees. Plus, it would allow Chip and Joanna to visit the Silos more frequently and stay at the center of their business. The headquarters currently sits near the original Magnolia Market, which is on the outskirts of town.

It’s a sign that Chip and Joanna aren’t even close to being done

This new dive into their business proves one thing: This couple isn’t going anywhere. Chip and Joanna may have ended their popular television show in 2018, but the family of seven still has big plans for Waco. In addition to a potentially new headquarters, CountryLiving.com reported the couple wants to remodel the grain silos at Magnolia Market. One silo will reportedly be a store for men and will sell items inspired by Chip Gaines. The other silo’s purpose hasn’t been revealed yet, but it will likely increase tourism to the area. This couple has their hands full, but they’re still working just as hard as ever.
