Why Do Some Royal Fans Believe Princess Diana Had a Secret Daughter?
The whole world is well-aware of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s children. Since the time that Prince William and Prince Harry came into the world, it seems like everyone has been obsessed with learning everything that they could about the two boys.
We watched as they made their first appearance with their parents outside of St.Mary’s Hospital after they were born, we watched them grow up, go off to school, get married, and eventually, have kids of their own.
With the media constantly monitoring the royal family’s every move, it is hard to imagine that they could possibly have any secrets. However, many people believe that there is some big royal news that Princess Diana herself didn’t even know about.
So, what is this secret? Well, many people believe that Princess Diana actually had a secret daughter before she gave birth to William. If this true, how was she able to have a daughter and not know about it? Here is why some royal fans believe Princess Diana had a secret daughter.
The story behind the rumor
Before Queen Elizabeth II would allow Prince Charles to marry Princess Diana, she had to make sure that Diana would be able to produce an heir to the throne. So Diana went to the fertility doctor and had one of her eggs extracted.
In order to determine if she was capable of having a baby, the doctor needed to fertilize it with Charles’ sperm. Once the egg was fertilized, the doctor was then supposed to destroy the embryo.
According to Daily Mail, rumor has it that the doctor did not destroy the embryo as he was instructed to do. Instead, he harvested the embryo and implanted it into his wife, making his wife unaware that she was a surrogate to Charles and Diana’s child.
The child that was allegedly born as a result of that embryo was named Sarah. When Sarah was in her twenties, both of her parents had tragically died and she had then found out that she was born as a result of IVF and her parents had obtained a donated embryo.
When Sarah tried to find her biological parents, she reportedly received death threats from an unknown source and was so frightened that she moved to America.
Many people were disappointed that Sarah was unable to find out the truth about her birth until after Princess Diana had passed away. Because Diana had always loved being around children and had reportedly also wanted a daughter, people who believed this story wished that she could have had the chance to meet Sarah.
Why some royal fans believe that Princess Diana had a secret daughter
For years, there have been whispers about Diana’s secret daughter. Most people wrote it off as nothing more than a silly rumor. But recently, the Globe had published a picture of the mysterious Sarah and people were quick to comment on the fact that the young woman did look shockingly similar to Princess Diana.
Those who had been skeptical of the rumor were now starting to reconsider that there possibly was, in fact, some truth the story that was always considered to be nothing more than a myth.
Could there be some truth to the rumors?
Even though there is no denying that this woman bears a striking resemblance to Princess Diana, there is still not much of a chance that the woman is the late Diana’s daughter. There has long been a theory that states that every person in the world has a least seven other people who look similar to them.
Although that theory has never actually been proven, if you do a quick Google search, you will find several websites that are dedicated to pointing out several different celebrity look-alikes. So, obviously, looking like someone does not in any way prove any type of biological relation.
Also, Princess Diana had supposedly told her friend that she “had to be checked out” before she was allowed to marry Prince Charles, but there is no mention of a fertilized embryo. This doesn’t mean that the doctor couldn’t have still stashed Diana’s egg away somewhere and use it in an IVF procedure later on, but not only would that have been unethical, it would also have been illegal, and getting caught stealing a royal embryo would surely come with some pretty serious legal consequences.
The ‘story’ continues …
In 2011, Nancy E. Ryan wrote a fiction book entitled, The Disappearance of Olivia. The book is about a woman named Olivia, that ha always idolized Princess Diana. When she becomes an adult, she finds out that she was actually the child of Princess Diana after someone was secretly implanted with the royal embryo.
Many people believe that this whole rumor started because of that book. It is possible that after some people had read the book, they desperately wanted the story to be true so that they could, in a way, bring life back to “The People’s Princess.”
The royal family has yet to comment on the rumor, and until they do, there is no way of knowing for sure if this mystery woman does actually share some of Diana’s DNA.
However, even without confirmation from the royal palace, it is safe to say that the chances are slim that this story is factual in any way.
