Ariana Grande is hitting the road again, this time with an ex-boyfriend.
The singer is set to embark on her Sweetener World Tour beginning in March and just recently hinted that ex Ricky Alvarez could most likely be joining her.

They are not dating
In recent weeks, Ariana Grande has been spotted spending time with her ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez.
The two dated back in 2015 after becoming close while on tour since Alvarez was one of Grande’s backup dancers.
After a year of dating the two decided to call it quits. “She broke up with him. He didn’t cheat or anything, they just found it difficult to make it work,” a source revealed. “They are still friends though.”
Though they have remained friends over the years, Ricky Alvarez was still one of Ariana Grande’s muses for her hit single “thank u, next”, which was released in November.
Around that time, Grande and Alvarez sparked romance rumors after the singer commented on his Instagram photo. Fans began going crazy thinking these two were moving towards a second relationship.
However, Ariana Grande quickly shut down those rumors by writing a second comment, “We’re friends everyone take a big ol breather.”
They have remained good friends
Since Ariana Grande made it clear that she is not dating Ricky Alvarez, the two have still been spotted spending time together.
On New Year’s Day, Grande took to Twitter to share that she was not dating for all of 2019. “Spoiler: for the rest of this year/probably my life: It’s no one,” Grande wrote. “Please refer back to this tweet for future questions.”
That same day, she was seen walking the streets of New York City with Alvarez by her side.
Since calling it quits from Pete Davidson, Ariana Grande has been surrounding herself with close family and friends, so of course, Ricky Alvarez is one of those individuals.
With Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez spending a lot of time together as friends, many fans have speculated that he will join the singer on her Sweetener World Tour.
Just recently, Ricky Alvarez attended Ariana Grande “7 Rings” release party and posted a few photos of him alongside Grande’s go-to director and editor Alfredo Flores and photographer Stefan from the event.
In the comments, Ariana Grande wrote, “the best team, see y’all on touuuur” which in turn confirmed our speculations that Ricky Alvarez would be joining the singer on her next tour!
Dancer or photographer
Though fans are excited Ricky Alvarez will be joining Ariana Grande on tour, many are wondering if he will be her backup dancer once again or take on the role as photographer this time around.
Alvarez used to dance backup for Ariana Grande beginning in 2014 but has since been focused on his photography.
Grande has also been a muse for Alvarez when it comes to photography. The 26-year-old has shared a few photos of the singer to his personal and photography accounts.
Just recently, Alvarez posted a photo of Grande with the caption “a flower” to his personal Instagram page.
