Why Hannah Ann Sluss and Becca Kufrin Are at ‘The Bachelorette’ Filming Location, According to a Source
Things are getting wild down at La Quinta. Several publications have reported that Clare Crawley is no longer the bachelorette and Tayshia Adams (from Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor) will be taking her place. Now, Hannah Ann Sluss (Peter Weber’s ex-fiancé) and Becca Kufrin (former bachelorette who might have just split from her season winner, Garrett Yrigoyen) have also been spotted on location. Here’s what fans, sources, and experts are saying about the Bachelor Nation reunion currently happening in Palm Springs.
Reality Steve thinks Hannah Ann Sluss and Becca Kufrin might be on location to give a pep-talk to ‘Bachelorette’ contestants
Bachelor expert and reality TV reporter Reality Steve has, of course, been weighing in on the unfolding drama. He thinks Sluss and Kufrin could be on location to give the men a pep-talk after learning their Bachelorette journey with Crawley is over.
“Thinking out loud: We know Becca and Hannah Ann are at filming. Those two have something in common: they were initially chosen, then not. What if their presence is nothing more than them talking to the guys still there about being ‘second choice?'” he tweeted on Aug. 5.
There’s one theory that Sluss and Kufrin are in Palm Springs because production is going to knock out Bachelor in Paradise while filming The Bachelorette. Steve doesn’t agree with that theory.
“I really don’t think this a BIP thing or a double ‘Bachelorette’ deal like Kaitlyn/Britt. I don’t see them doing that again. And BIP would require 6-8 more single women from the franchise heading there, and there are no signs of that,” he wrote on Twitter.
“Perhaps just brought in to be advisors to the new bachelorette,” one Bachelor fan weighed in on Steve’s post.
Another Twitter user mused that Adams tested positive for Coronavirus and Hannah Ann is a back-up.
“Becca and Hannah Ann went through the same thing. Being chosen and then dumped on national TV. I think they are going to have Hannah Ann be the bachelorette.. a second chance like Becca. Maybe Tayshia is positive for Covid, so they had to bring Hannah Anne in,” they wrote.
A source says Becca and Hannah Ann are making an appearance on ‘The Bachelorette’ ‘as friends’
A source who spoke to E! News claims that Kufrin and Sluss are on set to “lend support.”
“Becca Kufrin and Hannah Ann Sluss are there as friends,” a source told the publication. “It’s now transitioning into a regular Bachelorette season and they are there to lend support.”
The source also noted they don’t believe Kufrin and Sluss will appear in more that one episode.
“In fact, it’s likely producers are following recent seasons where past contestants appear early on and offer guidance to the lead,” reported the site.
As far as how the season will play out, it’ll start as a Crawley Bachelorette season and transition into a season with Adams as the lead, according to another E! News source.
“The producers have told her that the season will still lead with Clare and her short-lived journey, and will show Clare falling in love with one of her suitors,” they said. “Clare will then conclude her journey and announce that Tayshia is the lead.”
