Why Is Chris Pratt Currently Being Dad-Shamed On Social Media?
Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger can’t seem to keep the smiles off of their faces after their romantic wedding ceremony that took place this past weekend.
The wedding looked to be everything the couple hoped for and none of us expected there to be anything that could bring them down from cloud nine.
Though this was a day Chris and Katherine will never forget, there are some people who don’t think Pratt should be calling his wedding day to Schwarzenegger the “best day” of his life when he has a child.
Many think that the “best day” of his life should be his son’s birth
Though many of us still can’t get over just how beautiful Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger’s ranch style wedding was, there are a few fans who aren’t the happiest with the actor at the moment.
On June 9, both Pratt and Schwarzenegger share a snapshot and the couple mentioned how their wedding was the “best day” of their lives.
Pratt captioned the Instagram post, “Yesterday was the best day of our lives!
We became husband and wife in front of God, our families and those we love. It was intimate, moving and emotional. We feel so blessed to begin this new chapter of our lives. We are so thankful to our families and our friends who stood with us and grateful to Mr. Giorgio Armani who created a once in a lifetime dress for Katherine to wear and for me, the perfect suit. This morning we feel nothing but blessed.”
Along with the congratulatory messages left in the comments by famous friends such as Gwyneth Paltrow to Jason Momoa, the actor was also left with a few dad-shaming comments.
Many believe that in his post, Pratt was insinuating his big day with Katherine Schwarzenegger was even more special than the day his son was born.
One fan wrote, “I love Chris Pratt. But this upsets me a little … to say that this is the best day of your life when you’ve been married before and had children. What about those days? It just kinda implies that those things weren’t just as important, even if times have changed.”
“I would think the best day of his life would be the day his son was born, but carry on,” another fan commented.
Some people even left similar comments under Schwarzenegger’s Instagram post such as “The best day in his life was the birth of his son … maybe.”
While some fans just criticized Pratt for not thinking of his son, some couldn’t help but troll him for moving on from Anna Faris so quickly.
“I miss Anna Faris,” one person commented, while someone else wrote, “not even divorced a year … what.”
Fans have been coming to Chris and Katherine’s rescue
Despite all of the backlash Chris Pratt is facing at the moment, many fans have been defending him and his Instagram post.
Some believe that Pratt was right to call his wedding to Katherine Schwarzenegger the “best day” of his life.
Though he didn’t mention his son, fans are certain that doesn’t mean he regrets the day six-year-old Jack was born.
“He just said the best day of ‘their’ lives together (Chris and Katherine),” one fan wrote. “The two of them. That’s how I see it. Chris Pratt is a kind, down-to-earth guy that loves his other family (Anna and their son) I’m sure. Wouldn’t it be insensitive to say ‘this is the 2nd, 3rd best day of my life’? So I think he phrased it well.”
Another fan made a point to mention that since Jack was born nine weeks prematurely, that was most likely one of the most stressful days Pratt has ever been faced with.
“Speaking as a preemie parent, their birthday was far from the best day of my life so I don’t see anything wrong with him not claiming the birth day of his preemie to be,” a follower wrote.
Chris Pratt has yet to comment on the constant dad-shaming and many of us are not expecting him to and hope he won’t let the negative comments ruin his wedding bliss.
