Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are two very rich and very famous people, which means that fans everywhere are always curious about how they live and what sort of house they are raising their children in.

When the couple invited Vogue into their mansion for a round of 73 questions for Kim, their abode was on full display.

However, while some followers were definitely in awe, others were outright confused at how empty the house looked. So what is going on? Why does Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s house look so bare?

In 2014, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West bought their current house in Hidden Hills, California, for a whopping $20 million. Hidden Hills is next to Calabasas, where other members of the Kardashians live, though some have homes in Hidden Hills as well.

The couple’s house spent a lot of time being renovated after they bought it. They recently moved in some time in 2018. The place reportedly has a movie theater, a hair salon, and two floors of play area for the kids.

Calabasas and the surrounding neighborhoods are known for offering a lot of privacy to celebrities like the Kardashians. Kim actually shared in Vogue’s 73 Questions video that if she couldn’t live in the area, she would move to Beverly Hills.

(It’s worth noting that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West used to have a house in Bel Air in Beverly Hills, but they decided to live closer to family in Calabasas.)

However, if Los Angeles and the surrounding communities were out of the question, Kim Kardashian said that she would like to move to the Bahamas. It seems that she’s the type of person who gravitates towards warm weather.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s large house has minimal decorations

Despite all the years of renovations, though, a lot of people seem shocked that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s house looks quite empty, which is even more unusual given the fact that they have three young children running around.

Kim called her house a “minimal monastery” and revealed that it was inspired by Axel Vervoordt, a Belgian art dealer and interior designer, as well as Kanye himself. Axel Vervoordt and Kanye West actually are close and, based on an interview they did with each other, seem to share similar views on art and trends.

Kim Kardashian also shared that one of the things she hates is an unorganized closet. One of her first jobs actually was cleaning and organizing Paris Hilton’s closet, so it seems that Kim herself likes decorating her house with minimalistic designs and making it look as uncluttered as possible.

Aside from the bareness of their mansion, fans also find some other aspects of the house puzzling.

For one thing, even though the bathroom was shown in the Vogue video, there was no toilet visible. However, given the fact that the bathroom was gigantic, it’s quite possible that the toilet had been hidden from the camera’s view.

But the toilet was not the biggest topic of fans’ conversations. That title went to the sink. The internet recently went wild over Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s bathroom sink, which simply looks like a flat surface. There were so many questions that Kim herself had to go on social media and show everyone how the sink works.

According to her, it’s not as flat as it looks and there is also a slit where all the water goes.

The couple has other unique amenities as well, such as button light switches and two kitchens.
