Justin Bieber has rededicated his life to his religion

Justin rose to fame at an early age. And like many who grow up in the public eye, behind closed doors he was unable to avoid the pitfalls that come with having so much access. Eventually, he fell into the traps of partying, drugs, and womanizing.

Justin went through a very public on-again-off-again relationship with singer and actress Selena Gomez. But at some point, Justin grew tired of his uncentered lifestyle and searched for solace elsewhere. He eventually found it by dedicating his life to the Christian faith and says it has been his ultimate saving grace.

He opened up about his journey in an emotional Instagram post in September 2019. In the post, Justin wrote about being catapulted into superstardom at age 13 and how his team enabled him. By the time he turned 18, he said he had no life skills but could do and buy anything he wanted. This led to his partying ways, as well as being angry and “disrespectful to women.”

But after finding religion, he said things took a turn for the better. His new dedication to his faith also has been the catalyst for his marriage, and it has transformed the career decision he makes.

Justin Bieber explains why he wishes he would have saved himself for marriage

Justin and Hailey went into their marriage ensuring that their faith was a central part of their union. In fact, Hailey once revealed that their shared faith is what drew them closer, and it was the determining factor in them realizing they were right for each other. Hailey said spending time together at a church conference was her “aha” moment.

“We ended up being at this church conference together in Miami, and it was the first time we’d seen each other in a while,” she told Elle in February 2020. “I remember we were hanging out and I was like, ‘Listen, I’m really, really happy for us to be friends again. I want us to always be cool and be friends.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, here’s the thing: We’re not going to be friends.’ And I was like, ‘Oh. Is that so?’”

The two previously dated when Hailey was 19, but they didn’t last long. She admitted that at the time, they were “going in different directions.” But as fate would have it, they reconnected when they were more prepared for one another.

Still, living separate lives before they began dating again has caused its own set of challenges, specifically for Justin in terms of intimacy. He recently shared that he wished he hadn’t had sex until he was married.

“If I could go back and not have to face some of the bad hurt that I went through, yeah, I probably would’ve saved myself for marriage,” he said during an episode of the couple’s new Facebook Watch series, The Biebers on Watch.

He explained that in many cases, sex adds a complicated layer to relationships.

“I don’t think it’s too much information; I think it’s helpful,” Justin said. “Sex can be kind of confusing when you’re being sexually active with anybody. It’s true, I probably would have saved myself for marriage.”

However, Hailey shared different sentiments.

“I don’t know if I’d say the same, but we had different experiences with like everything,” she said. “Different journeys, but I do agree with the fact that being physical with someone can make things more confusing.”

Regardless, the two remain in contact with their spiritual adviser and appear to have open and honest communication that will surely help sustain their bond.
