Bell revealed in an interview with Willie Geist that when she initially met Shepard she didn’t feel any immediate attraction or sparks towards him. This was back in 2007. Shepard and Bell were first introduced to one another during an intimate dinner party. Bell shared that she was interestingly aware of how much Shepard could talk, but she had no idea that she had just met her future husband.
Shortly after the pair’s introduction, they ran into one another at a hockey game. From there, the rest seems to be history. Bell states that they “fell madly in love.”
Bell also shared that they had their obstacles. From dramatic fights to premature breakups, the couple had experienced a lot together. However, their love seemed to prevail. Their fans and the public were thrilled to see Shepard and Bell get engaged in 2009. A few years later in 2013, the couple made it official when they tied the knot.

Bell admits that when it came to her daughters and Hollywood, her initial reaction was to deter them for the path of stardom. However, she admits that her original decision was a result of her projecting her own experience own to her daughters.
As a mom, Bell was struggling to think about the potential rejection and dangers that often come with being in the spotlight. It didn’t take long for her to change her mind, and Bell has her husband to thank for that.
Shepard encouraged Bell to look at it from another perspective. One day Shephard asked, “Well do you enjoy being creative? Do you enjoy being overpaid?”
Bell responded, “yes.” With those questions, Bell’s perspective and mentality shifted. When it comes to pursuing careers in Hollywood, Bell reluctantly has changed her mind.
