Kylie Jenner has a stronghold on her fans. Ever since her Keeping Up With the Kardashians days, she’s used her social media influence to create a lucrative makeup line and a new swim collection. Jenner recently used her Instagram account to announce that she and Travis Scott are having another baby.
Although she’s beloved by many, the beauty mogul once said why she’s inauthentic online.

In 2007, Jenner’s life in Calabasas, California changed when KUWTK aired on E! The then-10-year-old reality star was initially known as the little sister of Kim Kardashian West and the rest of the Kar-Jenner siblings. However, she caught fans’ attention around 2015 when she started getting lip fillers. Soon, social media users wanted to know what the influencer does on a day-to-day basis.
During a 2015 discussion with Interview Magazine, Jenner admitted that her social media persona represents her everyday life. Even though she enjoys the fabulous clothes, houses, and cars she posts online, the images are primarily for her millions of followers.
“There is absolutely a side of me that people don’t know. I’m not myself on Snapchat or Instagram. That’s totally not me. I’m way flashier on Instagram and Snapchat because I feel like that’s what people want to see and that’s what I’ve always done, so I’m not going to stop. People want to see my cars and my purses. People love fashion. But that’s so not me.”

In addition to not being interested in her “flashy” posts, Jenner would rather not wear makeup all the time. If given the choice, Stormi Webster’s mom said she would also like to live in a world where she doesn’t have to flaunt her expensive clothes online.
“I would probably just never dress up,” Jenner said. I would never wear makeup because I honestly hate wearing makeup. Lately, I’ve just been so over it. I feel like I’m way too young to wear such heavy makeup all the time. It’s just bad for your skin, but I’m always doing photo shoots or red carpets and events, so I just obviously want to look good. And I don’t know, I like hiking. I used to do a lot of hiking when I wasn’t as busy.”

Even though Jenner said she longs for a simpler life, the beauty mogul grows in popularity. In 2018, she showed how influential after stating she stopped using Snapchat. Soon, the app’s sales plummeted, and Jenner admitted she didn’t understand her “power” at the time.
Since becoming famous, the model has kept some of her personal life private. When Jenner began dating Scott in 2017, she wanted the relationship to stay under wraps as much as possible.
“I don’t think he’s really cool with it, but he deals with it because we love each other, and we have a family,” Jenner said to GQ about her fame. “For sure, I know he doesn’t like the attention. That’s why we just go the extra mile to keep our relationship super private, or like, if he has events or something, I won’t come because; II want him to do his own thing. I want him to be him. I don’t want it to be Kylie and Trav. If people don’t ever see us together, that’s okay with me because we just do our thing.”
