Will Meghan Markle Appear on a Reality TV Show With Her Bestie?
Jessica Mulroney has a Netlfix project in the works. In October 2019, Mulroney announced that she was working with the streaming giant to develop a show about weddings, in which she’ll serve as a stylist. The series is named I Do, Redo. The original announcement of the project, while discussed in entertainment circles, wasn’t massive news for the mainstream media. Well, at least it wasn’t until Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced they would be stepping down from royal life. Now, rumors are swirling that Markle will choose to step back into television by pairing with her close friend on her Netflix project. So, what is the project all about and will Markle actually appear?
What is I Do, Redo about?
I Do, Redo will focus on Mulroney helping couples get the wedding they so desperately deserve, after their first walk down the aisle was disastrous. According to Town & Country, Mulroney has been approached multiple times to partake in television shows, but never found a project that spoke to her. When Netflix stepped up to the plate with I Do, Redo, everything fell into place.
Mulroney took to Instagram to share the exciting news. In her announcement, she said she was excited to be involved in a project that exposes the often forgotten moments of wedding planning. In helping make things right, Mulroney is hoping to help people heal and to ensure they finally get the wedding of their dreams, regardless of the circumstances that turned their special day into a disaster.
There is no official release date for the upcoming show. It is believed that I Do, Redo will premier sometime in 2020, though. Additional cast members have not yet been revealed, and that fact has a lot of people talking.
Will Meghan Markle appear in I Do, Redo?
Everyone is clamoring to find out what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will do next. It is confirmed that Markle will be working with Disney on a voiceover project, but that upcoming project isn’t exactly Markle’s reemergence in Hollywood. She will be lending her voice in exchange for a donation to an animal charity that she and the prince support.
Royal family followers were excited when Page Six reported that Markle would join Mulroney on her upcoming Netflix project. According to the media outlet, sources told them that Markle is already signed on to join the series and that she would be appearing in several episodes, albeit sporadically. The source did not share if Markle had signed a contract, nor would they reveal a pay scale for the project.
While fans were excited about the prospect of seeing Markle back on the small screen, inside sources claim the reports are categorically untrue. According to People, Markle is not in talks to join the cast of I Do, Redo, and the star of the project will still be Mulroney. CTV, the production house partnering with Netflix on the project, has also denied that the duchess will make an appearance.
What will Meghan Markle do next if it is not I Do, Redo?
Markle and Prince Harry stunned the world when they announced their decision to leave royal life in January 2019. Since the announcement, Markle has been lying low with her infant son in a sprawling estate in British Columbia. Many believe she’ll head back to acting, but it seems like its far from a done deal just yet, even as rumors swirl that she’s shopping agents at the moment. Her next move, frankly, is anyone’s guess. She could return to acting, or she could start down an entirely new career path.
Another option would be the resurrection of her wildly popular lifestyle website. During her time on Suits, Markle worked on the lifestyle blog that aimed to connect fans from around the world. She pulled the site after spending three years working on it, but now that she’s stepping back from royal life, she could potentially go back to writing.
It doesn’t seem like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in any rush to establish their next move, or at the very least, they aren’t in a hurry to share those plans with the public. They’ll be working, over the next year, to become financially independent and to pay back the British government for renovations to the home they briefly shared in the United Kingdom. After that, well, everyone will just need to wait and see.
