Will Mike ‘The Situation’ and Lauren Sorrentino Get Their Own Show When the Baby Comes?
Mike “The Situation” and Lauren Sorrentino are expecting a baby! Many Jersey Shore: Family Vacation fans are hopeful the couple will share more of their baby journey throughout season 4. Some fans are hoping for even more from the Sorrentinos — including a Jersey Shore spinoff series.
The Sorrentinos will have a ‘Baby Situation’ in May 2021
Jersey Shore fans got an early holiday gift this year when the Sorrentinos announced they were expecting a child.
“We have a Baby Situation,” Big Daddy Sitch shared on Instagram the week of Thanksgiving 2020.
“Our biggest blessing is on its way,” his wife captioned the same set of photos on her Instagram account. Their baby announcement featured the happy couple with their dog Moses and a message written in flour that read: “Baby Sorrentino May 2021.”
Many fans are excited to follow along on the Baby Sorrentino Instagram account.
Some fans hope Mike ‘The Situation’ and Lauren Sorrentino’s baby becomes a focus on ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’
After the drama that ensued in season 3, many Jersey Shore: Family Vacation fans hope this season is more lighthearted. So far, it has been!
Deena Cortese shared her second pregnancy with her roommates during “The Double Book” episode of season 4. Plus, the Sorrentino’s had cameras with them during their visit to a fertility doctor.
Now that their pregnancy is public knowledge, many fans hope “Baby Situation” becomes one of the main storylines in season 4.
The Sorrentinos have been extremely open about their pregnancy journey thus far. It would only make sense for “The Situations” to continue doing so. Still, it’s unclear whether or not the pregnancy will be a focus on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. However, considering how open the rest of their roommates have been about their children, the Sorrentinos will likely follow suit.
Will Mike ‘The Situation’ and Lauren Sorrentino get a spinoff series?
In a discussion thread on Reddit, Jersey Shore fans celebrated Mike and Lauren’s pregnancy.
“He’s come such a long way since Jersey Shore first aired,” one fan said. “I feel like a proud parent (even though he’s well over ten years older than me).”
During their celebrating, some fans encouraged the idea of a spinoff series involving Mike, Lauren, and their baby.
“Yay!!!” one fan said. “This confirms they need their own show!!”
“I agree,” another shared. “They’re the only ones I’m interested in. The others can appear occasionally as guests. Except Angelina and Uncle Nino.”
“Yep,” another fan said, adding: “They’ve been angling for it and I want it.”
In the past, MTV has seen success with spinoff series involving the Jersey Shore roommates. Many fans enjoyed shows like Snooki & JWoww, The Pauly D Project, and more recently, Double Shot at Love. Given how excited fans are about Mike and Lauren expecting a baby, a spinoff series about “The Situations” would likely become an instant success.
Still, having a child could change the trajectory of the Sorrentino’s life. They could both decide to step out of the reality television spotlight and focus on raising their child and their other business ventures. But only time will tell!
