Will Smith’s Best Parenting Advice Is Spot-On for Raising Gender Nonconforming KIds
Raising children has never been an easy thing to do. Many parents will agree that making decisions on how to raise their kids is one of the hardest things that they will ever have to do, and most couldn’t imagine doing it in front of the entire world.
For someone as famous as Will Smith, this is actually a reality. Smith has been in the public eye for a few decades now, and we have watched him grow and evolve, marrying his wife, Jada, and having a beautiful family.
The Smith’s have always led a relatively quiet life, but even so, Will Smith recently gave his best parenting advice, which turns out to be spot-on for raising nonconforming kids.
Who is Will Smith?
Smith grew up in the city of Philadelphia, something that he has always been extremely proud of. As an actor, producer, and rapper, he has always been extremely successful, and his huge fan base more than proves that.
Smith got his start on the 90s sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where he was able to showcase his talents as an actor and move on to even bigger things. Over the years, we have seen him in movies such as I Am Legend, The Pursuit of Happyness, and Men in Black.
With an amazing music career, it almost seems as if there is nothing that the award-winning celebrity can’t do. It was on New Year’s Eve in 1997 that Smith married his wife, Jada Pinkett, and they have two children together, along with Smith’s oldest son from a previous relationship.
About Will Smith’s children
Looks like talent runs in the Smith family! According to PopSugar, the three kids are just as ambitious as their famous parents, and we love seeing the amazing projects that they choose to embark on.
Smith and his oldest son, Trey, have become incredibly close over the years, and they have supported each other in all they do. He is a musician and also dabbles in acting, making it clear just how proud he is of his entire family. Smith’s daughter, Willow, is famous for releasing the song “Whip My Hair” at the young age of 10, and she has also appeared in some movies alongside her dad.
The other son in the Smith family, Jaden, is no stranger to the world of acting, either. Becoming legally emancipated from his parents when he was only 15, he values his independence, and as most fans are well aware, he is known for giving a phenomenal performance with his father in The Pursuit of Happyness.
Will Smith’s best parenting advice is spot-on for raising gender-nonconforming kids
It would appear that Smith really has things running smoothly when it comes to raising kids, and many fans likely want to know his secrets. Fortunately, the actor gave some of his best advice, and it is actually spot-on.
While speaking to Revelist about raising gender-nonconforming kids, Smith said that “what I do with my children, that I feel that the greatest gift that I can give my children is the freedom to be who they are.”
He then went on to say that he and his wife “are very serious about finding what they are and encouraging them to be what they are because you can never be happy being what you’re not. As a parent, if it’s an oak tree, I want it to grow as an oak tree. I’m not going to try to force it to be an apple tree.”
This is great advice for parenting because it allows children to freely express themselves while growing up to be exactly who they are meant to be.
