Willow Smith’s Rumored Boyfriend Is Tyler Cole — But Are They Really In a Relationship?

From her famous parents to her work as an actress and singer, Smith knows a thing or two about getting headlines, but that doesn’t mean that she ran into the arms of another tabloid celebrity. Bypassing a high-profile relationship, Smith has been in a relationship with Tyler Cole for quite some time, and his low-key nature could be the secret to their relationship.

When Willow Smith was born in October of 2000, her father, Will Smith, might have been at the peak of his popularity while her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, is a star in her own right. Willow Smith saw her parents in the limelight from her earliest days on earth, and it didn’t take long for her to enter the family business.

When she was just seven years old, Willow Smith appeared in her father’s film, I Am Legend, and her Hollywood career was a go. Aside from acting, Willow also got her family’s musical taste. Her hit song, “Whip My Hair,” was a certified hit and showed that multi-hyphenate talent was a family affair at the Smith household.

While Willow Smith basked in the song’s success, however, she did not want it to define her. As she grew older, her music got more personal, and she began to use her celebrity status to make a difference.

Willow Smith is reportedly in a relationship

Cole is in the band The Anxiety with Willow, but the pair’s relationship reportedly goes much deeper. According to the Smith family, Cole is merely a family friend heavily involved in their everyday life. However, as the pair makes the rounds in public and private, rumors persist that they are more than friends. 

Recently, Willow had Cole join her and her mother on their popular Facebook series Red Table Talk. They spoke about everything from the importance of voting in the upcoming elections to racism inside the music industry. However, as far as their relationship went, the pair remained as mum as they have always been. 

Who is Tyler Cole? 

Cole did not have the luxurious upbringing that Willow had. He grew up as the son of a single mother who had dreams of stardom, but those dreams never got her to the level that his alleged partner’s were. Now a young adult, Cole also got bit by the acting bug, and when he isn’t performing musically, he’s trying to make it big in Hollywood. 

Cole’s connection to Willow goes beyond their personal lives, however. He is also close friends with Willow’s older brother Jaden, and he’s part of the middle Smith child’s strange fashion company called MSFTS republic. When he isn’t acting or performing musically, Cole also fancies himself a filmmaker.

“Filmmaking is probably my first passion, even before music, only because that’s how I started making art before I was actually able to record and produce music,” he said in an interview with Alt Philanthropy (per The List). “I was out recording videos with my iPhone or my little flip camera with my friends.”

He used this passion to direct an autobiographical documentary called The Father Complex, which, according to IMDB, is currently in post-production. However, prints have already been seen at several major film festivals. 

Perhaps, Cole is on the rise with Willow. However, while he might be in a relationship with a celebrity, the pair seems perfectly content, living life as privately as possible. Regardless of where their relationship goes from here, the couple knows how to give the world exactly what they want while keeping it private for the parts that matter to them. 

Is Willow Smith really dating Tyler Cole?

Willow Smith has yet to confirm her relationship with Tyler Cole. Thus far, it’s simply speculation.

When Cole made an appearance on Pinkett Smith’s show, Jada has nothing but kind words but noted that he’s a “family friend.” While that doesn’t negate a potential relationship, it’s a careful choice of words.

“Tyler is a talented musician, filmmaker, actor and a close family friend,” Jada said on Red Table Talk, according to E! News. “And he’s extremely passionate about today’s RTT so we had to have him at the table.”

In the past, Willow Smith has openly shared her views on monogamy. “That feeling of you’re my one and my only. There’s no one else; for me, that would not work,” Willow Smith told Jada Pinkett Smith and her grandmother.

She’s also voiced that she would be open to polyamory. “I really couldn’t see myself in a quadruple, but personally, male and female — that’s all I need,” she said.

“Monogamy, I feel, actually inhibits you from learning those skills of evolving past those feelings of insecurity and jealousy,” Willow said, adding that her take on traditional marriage it can be oppressive towards women.
