Xena vs. Hercules: Who Is Worth More, Lucy Lawless or Kevin Sorbo?
Seeing former co-stars battle it out on Twitter has become a pastime for some. After frequent Hercules portrayer Kevin Sorbo made a controversial statement, Lucy Lawless, who played Xena opposite him, had some choice words for him. Which of the two has fared better monetarily in the years since working together?
Kevin Sorbo starred in ‘Hercules: The Legendary Journeys’
Sorbo starred in the Sam Raimi-produced series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys as the titular Greek god. The show ran for six seasons, from 1995-1999. It was filmed in New Zealand and starred the American Sorbo and New Zealander Michael Hurst as Iolaus, Hercules’ sidekick and friend.
Following Hercules, Sorbo portrayed Captain Dylan Hunt in the sci-fi series Andromeda for all five seasons. He appeared in recurring roles in Dharma & Greg and The O.C. Additionally, he starred in the crowd-funded Mythica film franchise. In recent years, Sorbo has tried his hand at directing.
Lucy Lawless starred in the spinoff, ‘Xena: Warrior Princess’
Lawless’ Xena was introduced in Hercules Season 1. After appearing in a few episodes, she got her own spinoff, Xena: Warrior Princess. Like its predecessor, Xena ran for six seasons, airing from 1995-2001. Also like Hercules, Xena featured just one other main character: Gabrielle (played by Renee O’Connor).
When Xena ended, Lawless appeared in small roles in films such as Spider-Man and EuroTrip. But she had more continued success on TV. Lawless has held recurring roles in such popular series as Battlestar Galactica, Parks and Recreation, and Agents of SHIELD. She currently stars in the mystery series My Life Is Murder.

It’s unclear just how much Lawless and Sorbo have kept in touch over the years. However, they clearly differ in opinion on one subject. After the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, Sorbo retweeted someone who suggested the people in question weren’t Trump supporters, writing, “They don’t look like patriots to me…”
“No, Peanut,” replied Lawless. “They are not Patriots. They are your flying monkeys,homegrown terrorists, QAnon actors.” She continued, “They are the douchebags that go out and do the evil bidding of people like you who like to wind them up like toys and let them do their worst.” She added hashtags “keeping Your Filthy Hands clean” and “enabler.”

So which of these two former co-stars is worth more? According to Celebrity Net Worth, Sorbo is worth an estimated $14 million. Included in this are his homes in New York and Los Angeles. The actor is married to Sam Jenkins, who played Princess Kirin in Hercules. They have three children.
Sorbo’s net worth falls a little short of Lawless’. Celebrity Net Worth estimates that she’s worth approximately $18 million. The actor has been married twice. First, to Garth Lawless, with whom she has one child. Later, she married Xena co-creator Rob Tapert. Together, they have two children.
