Who Is Yankees Pitcher Gerrit Cole’s Wife Amy Crawford?
Major League pitcher Gerrit Cole began his career as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2013. In 2018, he was traded to the Houstons Astros where he remained until the New York Yankees swooped up the six-time All-Star and two-time strikeout leader in late 2019, signing him to a $324 million contract.
In October 2024, the Yankees stamped a ticket to the World Series to play against the Los Angeles Dodgers. That marked Cole’s first trip to the World Series with the Bronx Bombers and he was named the Game 1 starter. Playing on the big stage in the Big Apple has many fans trying to learn as much as they can about Cole and his life away from the baseball diamond.

How long Gerrit Cole and Amy Crawford have been together
Cole and Amy (nee ) Crawford are college sweethearts having met when they both attended UCLA. Like Cole, Amy was a student-athlete. She was a member of the Bruins softball team which won the 2010 Women’s College World Series.
Crawford isn’t the only athlete in her family. Her younger sister, Jenna Crawford, also played softball for UCLA. In addition, her brother Brandon Crawford, is also a baseball player and was the shortstop for the San Francisco Giants from 2011 to 2023. He later played for the St. Louis Cardinals as well. In 2015, Amy’s husband and brother played together for the first time in the All-Star Game.
Cole talked to Inside Weddings about seeing his future bride in the weight room and wanting to ask her out recalling: “I remember thinking she was the prettiest girl I had ever met and I wanted to get to know her.”
They started out as friends before dating. Then after being together for a few years, Cole popped the question and the couple tied the knot on Nov. 12, 2016, at The Ritz-Carlton in Santa Barbara, California, surrounded by friends and family.
Amy used to run a food blog called A Coleonary Experience. However, these days she devotes more of her time to being a mom and doing work for the Gerrit and Amy Cole Foundation which they founded to improve the lives of children in the U.S., focusing on things like “pediatric cancer research, childhood hunger, and education.”
How many children they have together
Today, Cole and Amy have two children together.
Their oldest son, Caden, was born on June 30, 2020, followed by their second son, Everett, on Jan. 2, 2023.
In 2024, Cole’s wife shared a touching Father’s Day tribute for her husband via Instagram. She posted a video of their two little ones all decked in Yankees gear watching games in person or spending time with their dad.
She captioned it: “In their eyes, you hung the moon. Grateful every day to experience such a love. Happy Father’s Day.”

What Cole said about his wife after he won the CY Young Award
In 2023, Cole won the Cy Young Award.
Moments after winning the pitching honor, he spoke to three-time CY Young Award winner and MLB Network analyst Pedro Martinez, who asked Cole: “If you have to name someone who you want to have with you receiving the trophy because of how much he means to you or she means to you or that person who you want to really think of when you receive the trophy, who would that be?”
Cole answered that it was his wife, Amy, and explained: “She’s been there since I was just a kid in school and she supported me in all different aspects and journeys in our life. Moving to New York, setting up the home with the kids during the pandemic, and being that rock for all of us as we transition to a new place. She plays a big role behind the scenes. She’s the one I’d like sitting next to me when I receive it, for sure.”
