‘Yellowjackets’: Liv Hewson Name Drops the Perfect Actor Who Could Play Future Van
The fate of Van on Yellowjackets is still unclear. The Showtime show has only shown her in flashbacks played by Liv Hewson (who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns). Hewson dropped the name of an actor who could play future, Van…if she survives.

Liv Hewson answers who they want to play future Van
Hewson and Jasmin Savoy Brown, who plays young Taissa, were guests on the Dyking Out podcast. They answered who they would want to play future, Van.
“I’ve been asked this a fair bit over the course of press for Yellowjackets, and I don’t know why I don’t have a better answer for that question now,” Hewson said. “It just never occurred to me to think of anybody.”
They continued, “Because one of my favorite things about this job, in general, is how often you get to be surprised.” Hewson said they don’t actually want to know who they’re considering until after they made the decision on casting.
Hewson admitted they think they’re too close to the character to make that decision. Brown also added that it could be a lesser-known actor who could take the role.
Liv Hewson name drops Julia Stiles as a possible future Van
Of course, fans of the series have their own theories. Hewson dropped a name that has been suggested to them.
“On the other side of that coin, my friends will text me and be like ‘What if it’s Julia Stiles?’ Then I’ll burst into tears,” they said.
Stiles would be an amazing fit for the role. But it’s still unclear if Van is even alive to get an older actor.
“I have to keep bringing myself back down to Earth too because I’ll get carried away thinking about that, then I’ll remind myself that they could kill me. Like I don’t know if I’m surviving! I can’t get my hopes up too much.”
Van had multiple close calls in ‘Yellowjackets’ Season 1
Van almost died multiple times in the first season. Jackie (Ella Purnell) and Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) left her behind in the burning plane in the first episode. But Van managed to survive.
However, Van later faced death again by getting mauled by a wolf. Taissa and some of the other soccer players were ready to mourn her by burning her body, but then Van woke up.
Later Van survived by getting her face stitched up. It also looked like she became a follower of Lottie’s (Courtney Eaton) cult. Taissa is married to someone else in the future and hasn’t mentioned Van. That doesn’t bode well for fans of the teen couple, but they could have been separated by a breakup and not death. Fans will have to wait to find out.
