The Dutton family is back after a two-year hiatus. The second half of Yellowstone Season 5 premieres this November on Paramount Network. We have all the details you need to know about the show’s highly anticipated return

When does ‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 Part 2 premiere?

Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 will premiere Sunday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Paramount Network. A special broadcast of the season premiere will also air that same day on CBS at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Want to stream new episodes of Yellowstone? Don’t look for them on Paramount+. Because of rights issues, it’s not available on that streaming service. Instead, Yellowstone streams on Peacock. However, there’s no word on when the last six episodes of season 5 will be available there. So, if you want to keep up with the latest twists in the Dutton family saga, you’ll need to tune in on cable.

What can we expect when ‘Yellowstone’ returns?

It’s been a while since we last checked in on the Duttons, so it’s understandable if you need a quick refresher.

The first half of Yellowstone Season 5 ended with various members of the Dutton family at odds with each other. Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) moved to remove his father, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), from the Montana governor’s office. His sister, Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), saw that as an act of war and responded accordingly. During a tense and violent confrontation, both threatened to reveal huge secrets that could destroy the other. Meanwhile, Jamie seemed to be seriously considering hiring someone to murder his sister.

Who will win in this war between the Duttons? That’s anyone’s guess. Plot details for the upcoming episodes are strictly under wraps. Even the show’s cast members are in the dark about what’s going on, thanks to redacted scripts.

Will Kevin Costner be in the new episodes?

Even the ‘Yellowstone’ Cast Doesn’t Know What to Expect From ‘Secretive’ Final Episodes of Season 5

No. One thing we do know about the conclusion to Yellowstone Season 5 is that it won’t involve Costner. The actor exited the series because he wanted to spend more time working on his Western epic Horizon. Conflicts with creator Taylor Sheridan may have also played a role in his departure.

Does Costner’s exit mean that Jamie completes his villainous turn and has his father killed? Perhaps. But John Dutton doesn’t lack enemies, so it’s possible someone else decides to take him out before Jamie can make his move. Or the rancher-turned-politician could meet a less violent end due to a heart attack or the return of his cancer. While we’re not counting on a happy ending for John, a peaceful ride off into the sunset is always a possibility.

Is ‘Yellowstone’ really ending with season 5?

In May 2023, Paramount Network announced that Yellowstone would conclude with the second half of season 5. The news came amid reports of Costner’s reluctance to commit a significant amount of time to filming new episodes.

The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023 delayed the production of the show’s final episodes, which did not resume until the summer of 2024. Meanwhile, reports surfaced that season 5 might not be the last for Yellowstone after all. As of late August, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser were in talks to return for a potential season 6, according to Deadline. However, Paramount Network has not officially announced a sixth season for Yellowstone.
