Yellowstone returns for season 4 after a dramatic season 3 finale. The Dutton family’s lives were in serious danger, and fans weren’t sure if everyone would make it out alive. Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler are a fan favorite couple in the series. The pair got engaged in season 3 and luckily made it through to season 4. Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth, talked about the couple’s strength in Yellowstone Season 4.

Beth and Rip are a beloved couple

Beth and Rip met when they were young. When Rip was a teenager, his father killed both his mother and brother. Rip then killed his father and was left an orphan. Beth’s father John Dutton found Rip and took him in. When Beth and Rip are introduced as adults at the beginning of the show, it’s pretty obvious that they have hooked up. In the season 1 episode “Kill the Messenger” they have their “first date” watching a pack of wolves eat a deer carcass.

Then, at the end of Yellowstone Season 3, Beth proposed to Rip. Unfortunately, the season finale saw the Dutton family under attack. Luckily, Yellowstone Season 4 revealed that Beth survived the bombing of her office, and Rip also avoided getting killed. Fans were relieved to find out that the couple made it out alive, though understandably their wedding plans had to be put on hold.

There’s a lot that’s up in the air going into Yellowstone Season 4. Tensions are running high at the ranch, and there’s a lot of drama and mistrust within the Dutton family. With all this going on, it’s nice to know that actor Kelly Reilly agrees that Beth and Rip’s relationship is one of the most steady parts of the show in Yellowstone Season 4.

“After that moment last season where she asked him to marry her — which is one of my favorite scenes — I feel like that’s it, they’re done. I don’t think anything can come between them,” the actor told TV Insider. That’s not to say that the couple won’t have any challenges in the new season. Reilly also seemed to tease Rip dealing with Beth’s quest for revenge in Yellowstone Season 4 following the attacks on her family.

“What’s interesting about what happens with them — I can’t give some stuff away — but it’s electric is what it is and there’s an insanity that ensues with Beth that Rip has to sort of [deal with],” she continued. “There’s a question of whether or not Beth is gonna go off the deep end. And is she gonna put him first or is she going to put her own need for revenge first? So there’s all of those questions that get tested in the relationship.”

Will Beth and Rip get married in ‘Yellowstone’ Season 4?

Obviously, nearly getting killed put Beth and Rip’s wedding planning on hold in Yellowstone Season 4. Regardless, the wedding couldn’t be a big flashy ceremony. Because Rip killed his abusive father, John erased Rip from public records for his own protection. This means that the couple can’t have a “real wedding,” but all Beth wants is a simple ceremony with her friends and family. Hopefully, fans will get to see it in Yellowstone Season 4.
