Netflix has announced that You Season 3 will be released on Oct. 15. It’s been well over a year since season 2 ended on a cliffhanger. Fans have been wondering what’s next for Joe Goldberg, Love Quinn, their baby, and their mysterious new neighbor for far too long. Hopefully, You Season 3 will address the following burning questions that desperately need answers.
‘You’ Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger
At the end of season 2, Joe and Love learned the truth about each other’s murderous habits. Love revealed that she is pregnant and the two decided to raise the baby together. Love killed Candace and Delilah, and Forty was shot by police in the final episode. Joe and Love seemed all set to raise their baby together in the suburbs without much more drama.
However, the final episode revealed that Joe can’t seem to quit his stalking habits. He has found a new obsession in his neighbor. Fans still have plenty of questions about Joe and Love’s past, and what this new neighbor will mean for the future.
Where is Joe’s mom?
When Joe was a child, he shot and killed one of his mother’s abusers. Then Joe was taken into child protective services. The series implies that Joe has not seen or heard from his mother since then. However, he is plagued by flashbacks and even hallucinations of her.
It’s clear that Joe’s unhealthy relationship with his mother has a lot to do with making him the person he has become. Going into You Season 3, it’s unclear what has happened to Joe’s mom, or if she is even still alive.
Will Paco return in ‘You’ Season 3?
In season 1, Joe befriends his neighbor Paco, whose mother is dating an abusive man named Ron. Joe eventually kills Ron while defending Paco, who helps him cover it up. Paco clearly likes Joe, to the point where he doesn’t let Guinevere Beck out of the basement when she mentions that it was Joe who locked her in there. If Paco comes back, it could be to help Joe rather than expose him.
How will things play out with Joe’s new neighbor?
The trailer for You Season 3 revealed that Joe’s new neighbor is a married woman named Natalie. Although fans know who she is, it’s still anyone’s guess how Joe’s new obsession will play out now that he is married to Love. The trailer hints at Love catching on to her husband’s obsession. It even shows a dead body with a wedding ring. Will Love kill Natalie? Will Joe kill Love? It’s anyone’s guess.
Will Joe finally pay for his crimes in ‘You’ Season 3?
Joe has almost been caught by the police on several occasions. So far he has avoided dealing with any real consequences to his actions. Still, he has left several loose ends untied that could lead to his downfall in You Season 3.
Police still have that jar of Joe’s urine that he left at Peach Salinger’s house, connecting him to her murder. Ellie also knows that Joe isn’t a great guy, though she doesn’t have all the details. It’s possible that Joe might get himself caught. Some fans have even proposed on Reddit that Ellie will get her revenge. Joe might even die in season 3.
