You Won’t Believe How Much Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Spent On Michael Jackson’s Jacket
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have proved that there’s no price point too high when it comes to their kids. From luxurious vacations to opulent gifts, the entrepreneurs enjoy spoiling their four children and exposing them to the finest. So, it’s no surprise that Kimye went all out and splurged on their kids for Christmas.
Notably, the couple gifted their eldest daughter North West a jacket that used to belong to the late and great Michael Jackson. It goes without saying that it came at quite a hefty price tag — but how much exactly?

According to E! News, North received a jacket that Jackson famously wore to Elizabeth Taylor’s 65th birthday party in 1997 and another time at a screening of his movie, Ghosts. It’s a velvet jacket with sparkly detailing across the front and a burgundy stripe on the right sleeve.
Kardashian West showed off the item in a video posted to her Instagram Story on Dec. 24, 2019.
“For Christmas, Kanye and I gave North this jacket,” she said in the clip. “North is a really big Michael Jackson fan. And we knew she would love this, so we won this on an auction for Northie for Christmas and we had it like tacked up so she can wear it.”
She noted that the jacket is altered in a way where it’ll still fit North as she grows. “It can grow with her and she can have this for her whole life,” Kardashian West continued. “And she is so grateful and so excited.”

E! News reports that the jacket was purchased for a whopping $65,625 at an auction in October.
And that’s not even the only thing North got for Christmas. Kimye also gifted the 6-year-old with the hat Jackson wore in the video for “Smooth Criminal,” in which he dressed like a 1930s mobster. Oh, and get this: It still had MJ’s makeup on it. The Sun reports it costs around the same amount as the jacket.
The gifts did prompt some backlash on social media — not because of their price tags but because Jackson has been accused of some pretty horrible things. He’s been dogged by sexual abuse allegations for years — something that Jackson vehemently denied before his death in 2009. His estate continues to deny the claims made against the late singer.
Did Kimye get North something that belonged to JFK?
Despite what you may have heard, the Wests did not get their daughter a blood-stained shirt that belonged to former President John F. Kennedy.
Some outlets reported in late December that the Wests had bought North the shirt Kennedy had on when he was assassinated in 1963. But Kardashian West pushed back on the reports in a message shared to Twitter on Dec. 30.
“That is a sick joke that someone tweeted as a fake ig story that I never posted,” she wrote. One of the outlets that reported the story, Refinery29, later edited it.
It looks like North only got things that belonged to Jackson.
