You Won’t Believe What Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond’s Net Worth Is
Ree Drummond, star of the Food Network series Pioneer Woman, is coming to a toy aisle near you. Mattel has created a new Barbie playset featuring a doll-size version of the Oklahoma blogger and businesswoman, Delish reported. The playset, which includes the Drummond-like doll and more than 30 accessories, will be sold at Walmart stores for $44.88.
The Barbie deal is just the latest Pioneer Woman product to hit the stores. Drummond, who launched her blog in 2006, has since built a down-home empire that includes her TV show, a magazine, books, and kitchenware. In the process, she’s managed to make a lot of money. Find out how much the Pioneer Woman is really worth, and the surprising source of some of her fortune.
Ree Drummond’s net worth might be as high as $50 million
Celebrity Net Worth estimates that Drummond’s net worth is $50 million. AOL pegs her wealth at a more conservative $8 million. But either way, the Pioneer Woman is worth a lot.
Drummond started her blog about a decade after she moved with her husband – who readers know as the “Marlboro Man” – to his family’s ranch in Oklahoma. Originally, she just wanted to use it to keep in touch with her mother, according to a profile in the New Yorker. But she soon developed an enthusiastic following. By 2010, she was making $1 million from the blog alone.

Drummond’s blog made her famous, but she hasn’t been content to stick with one project. She started writing cookbooks, children’s books, and also authored a memoir, The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels, which was a bestseller. She sold the film rights to her story, though the movie, which was set to star Reese Witherspoon as Drummond, has yet to materialize.
Her Food Network show premiered in 2011 and her magazine, which is published by Hearst, debuted in 2017. She has a line of kitchen and home items that are sold at Walmart. Drummond and her husband also own a restaurant and store, The Mercantile, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. An average of 6,000 people dine at the restaurant every day – double the population of the town itself. Earlier this year, they opened a second restaurant, P-Town Pizza, in Pawhuska.
Finally, there’s the Pioneer Woman Boarding House. The eight-room boutique hotel opened in 2018 and is just three doors down the street from The Mercantile restaurant. Rates range from $169 to $279 a night.
Her husband is wealthy too
Drummond built her Pioneer Woman empire from the ground up. But not all of her wealth comes from her blog. She also married into a well-off family. Her husband, Ladd Drummond, is a third-generation Oklahoma cattle rancher.
The Drummond family owns 433,000 acres of land in the Sooner State. That makes them the 23rd largest landowners in the entire country. The family’s cattle operation undoubtedly brings in a lot of cash. Plus, the U.S. government pays them $2 million every year to keep wild horses and burros on their land. The Drummond family has made $23.9 million over the past 10 years from that alone, according to AOL.
