Dwayne Johnson’s movies and TV shows
One of Johnson’s early acting roles was in a 1999 episode of That ‘70s Show titled “That Wrestling Show.” That same year, he appeared in an episode of the TV series The Net titled “Last Man Standing.”
In 2000, Johnson made an appearance on an episode of Star Trek: Voyager titled “The Champion.” The following year, he made his film debut in The Mummy Returns, in which he played The Scorpion King. In 2002, Johnson reprised his role in The Scorpion King.
Johnson’s other acting roles include appearances in Fast Five, GI Joe: Retaliation, Fast & Furious 6, Hercules, San Andreas, Ballers, and Jungle Cruise.
What is ‘Young Rock’ all about?
Young Rock is about the life of Dwayne Johnson. The comedy focuses on his life as a child, teenager, and young adult. In the show, Johnson is campaigning for a 2032 presidential run. The actor says the executive producer chose this method of storytelling so Johnson could have a presence throughout the series. However, Johnson was initially hesitant to do the show this way.
“We were trying to figure out a creative way that I can be intertwined in every episode, to be part of it,” Johnson tells Associated Press. “This was [executive producer Khan’s] idea, and at first I was a little reticent about it because it’s political,” he said. “You just knew that by the time the show was coming out, politics was going to take yet another hard turn and be so polarizing as it is.”
Who plays young Rock?
Johnson is portrayed by different actors at different points in his life. Adrian Groulx is the actor who plays 10-year-old Rock. One of Groulx’s early acting roles was a part in the television series Kids’ CBC. In 2017, he played Billy in the TV movie The Christmas Cure. That year, he also appeared in an episode of The Adventures of Napkin! In 2020, Groulx played Jaden for three episodes in Mighty Express.
Bradley Constant is the actor who plays the Rock at the age of 15. One of his first roles was in the 2013 short film Famous Nobody. In 2018, Constant played Kris in the movie Following Phil.
Uli Latukefu plays the Rock at the age of 20. One of Latukefu’s early acting roles was in the 2014 TV min-series Jonah from Tonga. That year, he joined the cast of Marco Polo, in which he played the character Byamba. Latukefu made his film debut in the 2017 movie Alien: Covenant. His other acting roles include appearances in Sando, Harrow, Danger Close, and The End.
