Young Thug and 21 Savage are both from Atlanta

Atlanta has produced countless talented rappers over the years, from André 3000 and Big Boi of OutKast to Young Thug and 21 Savage. Thug was born and raised in the Atlanta area, while 21 Savage moved to Atlanta from London at the age of seven.

Thug and Savage have been friends for years. Throughout that time, Thug garnered a reputation for giving and receiving large gifts from his friends.

In October 2021, Savage hosted a massive FreakNik-themed party in Atlanta to celebrate his 29th birthday. Many of his friends were there, including Thug.

Young Thug gave 21 Savage a $150,000 car for his birthday

Thug surprised Savage at the party with a surprising gift: a customized truck estimated to cost upwards of $150,000. According to TMZ, the rapper went to Roadshow International car dealership in Atlanta where he purchased a Dodge Hellcat TRX, which costs anywhere between $60,000 and $72,000 alone. However, it was the custom modifications that pushed the price point to over double its original amount.

The car’s exterior includes patterns of the dagger that 21 Savage has tattooed on his forehead, as well as massive 21 Savage logos on the doors. Thug also cartoon versions of Savage’s face emblazoned on the seats.

The owner of Roadshow International told TMZ that they got all of the customizations done in three days before Thug gifted the car to Savage.

On top of the new whip for Savage, Thug also gifted Drake with a new chain for his birthday. The chain contained a customized OVO pendant which included a photo of Drake and his son Adonis on the back.

Young Thug is also building his own city

With seemingly endless amounts of money to his name, Thug continues to put it to use for his friends and community.

In October 2021, Thug’s real estate agent Trey Williams announced on Instagram that he and Thug’s manager had secured him 100 acres of land outside of Atlanta as a birthday gift. The land is the site of the forthcoming Slime City, Thug’s city of the future that he wants to build.

“Happy birthday to one of my top clients,” Williams’ post read. “His manager [Geoff Ogunlesi] and I secretly locked down 100 acres of land for his birthday and now he’s about to build Slime City! This is hands down one of the best ways to invest your money!”

As the climate crisis continues to threaten the lives of everyone in the future, Thug wanted to build a true city of tomorrow. That includes running the city entire entirely on renewable energy. To make it happen, Thug reached out to tech billionaire Elon Musk on Twitter. “I wanna make Slime City solar-powered,” he said. “Wya @elonmusk.”
