Aquaria is one of the youngest winners of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’
Although she was 22 at the time of crowning, Aquaria is one of the youngest winners in Drag Race herstory, competing at only 21-years-old. While on the television show, she explained that when she was first starting off with drag, she wasn’t even allowed in most bars. Prior to Aquaria, season 7’s Violet Chachki was the youngest winner, at 22-years-old.
Although Tatianna did not win season 2, she was one of the youngest contestants at the time of filming, having just turned 21-years-old. She later returned to the Werk Room for RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 2.
Plastique Tiara was another young competitor, entering Drag Race at only 22-years-old. She previously appeared on season 11. Aja was the youngest performer on season 9, also appearing at 22-years-old. However, the youngest contestant in the Drag Race franchise appeared on the United Kingdom version of this reality series.
The youngest contestant ever on ‘Drag Race’ is Scaredy Kat
When Scaredy Kat first walked into the bubblegum pink walls of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, she was only 19-years-old. (This could be because the drinking age in the United Kingdom is 18-years-old, instead of 21-years-old.) Scaredy Kat was a contestant on the first season of this spinoff.
“I think I’ve proven that you don’t have to be gay to do this,” Scaredy Kat said during an interview with Express. “I’m 19 no but God knows what’s going to happen in the future, maybe I’ll even end up in Hollywood.”
Gothy Kendoll another contestant from the first season of Drag Race UK, competed when she was only 22-years-old. This is only one year older than a contestant on season 12 of RuPaul’s reality competition series.
Who is the youngest contestant on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ season 12
The most recently released season of RuPaul’s Drag Race is season 12, which debuted during February 2020. With it, came 13 new queens ready to slay. The youngest of this season is the fashion queen herself, Gigi Goode.
When Gigi Goode first competed on Drag Race, she was only 21-years-old. Hailing from Los Angeles, this drag queen already had a pretty big following on social media. Since then, she’s won a challenge and showcased her design and sewing skills.
“I just feel personally like I encompass every facet of drag that there is: performance, humor, visuals, you name it. Slap the title on my back and I’m ready to go,” Gigi Goode said during an interview with Oprah Magazine.
