YouTubers Rally in Support of NikkieTutorials After She Reveals She’s Transgender
YouTubers have a way of becoming like family to their fans. Through their channels, they give people a behind-the-scenes look at their lives. So when it comes out that a YouTuber has a secret, fans are always shocked.
Beauty blogger Nikki de Jager also known as NikkieTutorials just revealed something extremely intimate about herself that no one saw coming.
In her new video, “I’m Coming Out” Jager revealed that she is transgender.
NikkieTutorials comes out as transgender
On Jan. 13, NikkieTutorials posted a video about her transition.
“When I was younger I was born in the wrong body which means that I am transgender,” she said.
“I want to start the year off with the truth, I want to start the year off by finally revealing a part of my life that has made me who I am. I want to talk about a part of myself that makes me, me,” she said. “I can’t believe I’m saying this today to all of you for the entire world to see but damn it feels good to finally do it.”
“I am NikkieTutorials and I am Nikkie. I am me. We don’t need labels. If we are going to put a label on it, yes, I am transgender.”
Was NikkieTutorials blackmailed?
In the video, de Jager explains that she was kind of forced to come out by someone who had been threatening to blackmail her with the information.
“Today, I am taking back my own power,” de Jager said of the blackmailing. “I’ve been wanting to share this side of myself to all of you for so long, but I could never figure out the timing. And there always was going to be the day where I would tell you. I did not expect this day to be today, but here we are.”
“I know you are watching this,” de Jager said to her blackmailer. “They said they wanted to leak it because I’m lying or that I don’t want to tell my truth or because they feel like I’m too scared for people to know who I truly am. I’m not scared.”

Since she came out, celebrities and fellow YouTubers have been blowing up de Jager’s YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter with support.
