Based on a webtoon of the same name, Yumi (Kim) is an ordinary office worker who lost her hope for love after a bad breakup. The K-drama uses 3D animation to bring Yumi’s emotional cells from hunger, lust, anger, reason, and even fashion to life. Fans watch as the cells help dictate how she reacts to situations.
The loss of Yumi’s love cell poses a problem until she is set up on a blind date with Goo Woong (Ahn Bo-hyun). It is love at first sight, and her love cell returns. But love is never easy, and while Yumi is happy, some problems get in their way.

The teaser poster reveals a bit of what fans can expect in the new season. Yumi looks happy and is no longer sporting the bob cut from the first season. Her iconic bangs remain the same. She is joined by her love cell, which looks as energetic and happy as ever.
The real clue is that Yumi and her love cell are joined by her writer cell. In Yumi’s Cells, Yumi switched departments at work and revived her writing cell. She finally got to use the talents she put aside a long time ago. Yumi’s Cells Season 2 might have Yumi continue to explore her real passion for writing.
Who will make their return to ‘Yumi’s Cells’ Season 2?
Lead actor Kim will make her return in her leading role, but it is unclear if Ahn will also make an appearance. Their characters parted ways after Woong called for a breakup in the first season. Woong no longer has a central importance in Yumi’s life. But fans are also curious if GoT7’s Jinyoung will return as Yoo Babi.
In her new department, Babi was Yumi’s new co-worker who encouraged her to continue writing. But fans saw hints of feelings between the two characters that were left to be explored in the new season. According to Soompi, the K-drama’s creators explained, “Season 2 will tell the story of Yoo Babi and Yumi, which will be different from the relationship with Goo Woong.”
Yumi’s Cells Season 2 will also include guest appearances. According to Soompi, Block B’s P.O will play Control Z, Yumi’s illustrator. It could be the second season has Yumi start to develop her own book or comic. Soompi also reported actor Shin Ye-eun would appear as Yoo Da-eun. The character works at a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) restaurant run by Babi.
