Zayn Malik Breaks Silence After Claims He Struck Yolanda Hadid, Gigi’s Mother
Zayn Malik is a very private person and doesn’t talk too much about his personal life. After his exit from One Direction, Malik has tried to lead a quieter life than when he was in the boyband. However, drama has made him make a rare public statement about an incident that involved his mother-in-law Yolanda Hadid and his daughter with Gigi Hadid.

A report claiming Malik “struck” Yolanda quickly went viral as it involved the former directioner and his partner’s mother. TMZ reported that Malik and the former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were involved in an altercation that became physical. The source told the publication that Yolanda was considering filing a police report.
After several news sources picked up the news, it was too big to ignore and Malik released a statement on social media where he gave his thoughts around what happened.
“As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart,” read the note he screenshotted and shared on Twitter.
Malik said that “in an effort to protect” the safe space for his daughter, he “agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument” he had “with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.”
“This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press,” he added.
The singer said he was “hopeful” everyone involved would heal from the “harsh words shared” and to “remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.”
Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid split
After Malik released his statement online, many fans started analyzing every word the crooner posted. A lot of people harped on the word “co-parent.” The word is usually associated with couples that are split and raising a child together. Some fans assumed Malik and Gigi had broken up and hours later it was confirmed.
“Zayn and Gigi have silently separated,” a source told Us Weekly. “They’d been having problems for a while and tried to figure them out, but it just wasn’t working.”
Another source that talked to People alleges that that couple was “not together right now.”
“They are both good parents though,” the source confirmed. “They co-parent. Yolanda is of course very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandchild.”
Zayn Malik denies ‘striking Yolanda Hadid’
Following Malik’s statement on Twitter, TMZ received another statement from the singer where he denied striking the former Bravo star.
“I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private,” he told the tabloid.
As of now, there have been no police reports around the alleged incident between Yolanda and Malik.
