Ben Affleck Finds Jennifer Lopez’s Behavior on Social Media ‘Super Annoying’
Jennifer Lopez’s behavior online is getting on her ex-husband Ben Affleck’s nerves. The Air star and director, 52, reportedly can’t stand it when the “Let’s Get Loud” singer, 55, “dangle[s] hints about their old romance” on social media.
Affleck doesn’t like Lopez’s thinly-veiled references to him on social media
Hinting at their past together on social media is a no-go for Affleck. “Ben’s really trying to be the understanding ex, but come on,” a source told Radar Online. “J.Lo is a total celebrity, and he knows the pressure’s on for her to spill some info about their relationship eventually.”
“But what really grinds his gears?” they continued. “It’s those sneaky little social media posts of hers that seem to just dangle hints about their old romance, knowing full well that everyone’s gonna jump to conclusions and connect the dots back to him.”
Affleck and Lopez married in 2022 before divorcing in early 2025 after their “Bennifer” era of the early aughts. Now, The Accountant 2 star is reportedly spending more time with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their three children, Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13.
“Honestly, he wishes she’d just keep it private and talk to someone in her inner circle instead of playing coy with her fans,” the insider said. “It’s super annoying because she doesn’t even mention his name outright, insisting it wasn’t her intention to make waves.”
What Lopez said on social media to mark Valentine’s Day, that “self-love don’t cost a thing” in reference to her 2001 song, is said to have bothered Affleck. Why? Because it was an apparent dig at him.
Jennifer Lopez is ‘struggling to move on’ from the relationship
Elsewhere, insiders claimed Lopez is “doomed to die single.” One shared that at the moment, “Jen is struggling to move on from her relationship with Ben.” Meanwhile, there’s speculation a new romance could be brewing for Lopez. She’s recently been linked to Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso), her co-star in the upcoming Office Romance movie.
Despite the potential spark, J.Lo hasn’t quite fully moved on. “She is eager to date again,” a source said of the Golden Globe nominee. “But it seems that her lofty expectations and lingering feelings for her ex-husband may be holding her back. She’s also such a diva [that] it is hard for any man to get close to her ideals.”
“Jen genuinely wants to meet someone new but tends to find faults with every guy she encounters,” they explained. “Despite interest from a variety of suitors, including through her agent, she has been on several low-key dates—but has been unable to feel a connection.”
Additionally, “Friends say she romantically invested in the idea that she and Affleck were soulmates, making it tough for her to let go of that notion.”
Things between Affleck and J.Lo have improved since their divorce became final
Turns out that being divorced has “done wonders” for Affleck and Lopez’s relationship. Their split became final in January 2025 after working out divorce settlement details. The exes were reportedly “impressed” with how they handled the proceedings, per In Touch Weekly.
“They’re both saying they are impressed in the end by how sensible and fair it all came out. And that’s left them both feeling about as happy as you could get after a divorce,” a source said.
They get through it “without hating each other.” Additionally, J.Lo and Affleck came out the other side of their divorce wanting “to preserve their friendship” and “stay in each other’s lives.”
Whether or not that will ultimately prove true for the pair remains to be seen.
