Beyoncé Is One of the Stars Who Ignored Meghan Markle’s Calls to Appear on Her Podcast About Female Empowerment
Meghan Markle recently launched her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder. This is the second podcast from the Duchess of Sussex since Spotify canceled her Archetypes podcast after one season.
The former Suits star was able to secure quite a few famous guests for Archetypes including Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton, and Meghan’s longtime pal Serena Williams. But Prince Harry’s wife isn’t having the same luck with Confessions of a Female Founder as she’s reportedly tried to book some big names to do an episode, but it’s not working.

Meghan’s calls to Beyoncé to appear on her podcast have reportedly gone unanswered
Some of Meghan’s guests for her new podcast thus far have included her friend and Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of Girls Who Code Reshma Saujani, and hair colourist Kadi Lee. Meghan has invested in Lee’s company and the women are said to be close.
But as the Daily Mail reported, Meghan wants some bigger names and she can’t get them.
A source connected with the production of the podcast said, “No one’s picking up the phone. The show is not landing. There’s no Taylor Swift. No Beyoncé. Not even a Hailey Bieber. And when you’re pitching female empowerment, that’s a problem. It speaks volumes for her pulling power. She’s not happy about her lack of appeal.”
Another insider claimed that Meghan has “dialed all the big names” to join her for “honest conversations with women who’ve built from the ground up, faced challenges and kept going.” However, her calls were not answered.
Meghan did meet Beyoncé at the European premiere of The Lion King in 2019, but it’s not known what their relationship is like today or if they have any relationship at all.
Royal expert Neil Sean said he spoke to Bey’s reps in 2022 after the duchess said in the Netflix series Harry & Meghan that the “Drunk in Love” singer sent her a sweet text. According to Sean, no one on Beyoncé’s team has any recollection of the artist sending a text to Meghan.
Taylor Swift is still a no-go to be a guest on Meghan’s podcast
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Meghan trying to Swift on her podcast only to be turned down.
When the Duchess of Sussex was still doing her Archetypes podcast for Spotify, she had the “Look What You Made Me Do” artist at the top of her guest wish list. According to reports, Swift was someone Meghan was dying to get on her podcast. She even reached out to the pop star personally via a handwritten letter asking if she would appear on an episode. But Swift rejected the invitation by having her representatives tell Meghan no.
While it’s unclear the exact reason Swift has refused to go on Meghan’s podcasts, it should be noted that the “Anti-Hero” singer has known Prince William for years and they have a good relationship. So that could very well play a part in her decision.
