Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are standing strong in their lawsuits against each other. Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us. She also accused him of retaliating against her and creating a smear campaign. In response, Baldoni countersued Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist for civil extortion and defamation. Here’s what a source said about a recent video that came to light of Lively that may hurt her case.

A clip of Blake Lively ‘grabbing a co-star’s crotch’ might hurt her case against Justin Baldoni, a source says

Blake Lively alleges Justin Baldoni sexually harassed her on the set of It Ends With Us. Baldoni countered these claims by stating Lively invited him into her trailer while she was breastfeeding. He included screenshots of a text conversation between him and Lively that appeared to corroborate his story.

Additionally, Lively said in her lawsuit that It Ends With Us producer Jamey Heath showed her a video of his wife giving birth. Lively said she stopped the producer, as the video seemed pornographic. Baldoni claimed there was “no sexual overtone” to the video or exchange.

Now, a source told DailyMail.com that Lively might have trouble escaping an improvised scene from her 2018 movie, A Simple Favor. In the scene, Lively grabbed actor Henry Golding’s crotch and stated, “Hey, nice to meet you. Can I grab your nuts really hard?”

“One of my favorite additions that you came up with — grabbing his nuts,” director Paul Feig said in recorded commentary. “You really went for it, too.”

“That’s always awkward — ‘Hey, nice to meet you, can I grab your nuts really hard?’ Not because I want to but because I feel like [my character, Emily] would,” Lively said.

A source close to Baldoni told the publication that this will be “evidence” used against Lively. “Blake admitted to grabbing her co-star’s crotch as improvisation, and Paul confirmed that it was an unscripted addition,” the source explained. “The video captures Blake doing exactly what she is now accusing Justin of, except worse. If Justin had grabbed Blake’s crotch or her breasts without her consent, she likely would have pursued criminal charges for assault. Yet, when she did it in A Simple Favor, she laughed it off.”

Blake Lively’s lawyers, Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, released a statement to Us Weekly in April 2025. The statement came after Justin Baldoni responded to Lively’s motion to dismiss his lawsuit. According to Lively’s legal team, Baldoni is trying to silence Lively’s sexual harassment claims. This could have huge implications for victims seeking justice.

“Baldoni, [Steve] Sarowitz, and the rest of the Wayfarer Parties are now arguing that nobody should be protected by the sexual harassment privilege. They’re not just saying that it doesn’t apply to Ms. Lively — they’re saying it’s unconstitutional and no woman should ever have these protections,” Lively’s team stated. “That’s right: Justin Baldoni, the man who has built his brand on supposedly speaking up for victims, believes that the First Amendment rights of victims of sexual assault and harassment to speak out should give way to the rights of perpetrators to sue their victims ‘into oblivion.'”

The statement noted that Baldoni felt “hell bent on trying to destroy Blake Lively.” It also alleged that Baldoni and his team take no issue with disregarding “a law designed to protect all victims just to make sure they ‘bury’ one.”
