On Apr. 1, 2025, Charles will preside over investitures at Windsor Castle. An investiture is a formal ceremony where awards are given to deserving members of the public from a royal family member.
Alongside his regular state duties and private meetings, Charles is also focused on preparations for the upcoming state visit to Italy with Queen Camilla. The couple arrives in Rome on Monday, April 7.
Charles and Camilla will undertake official engagements at the Vatican to celebrate the 2025 Jubilee. Charles and Camilla will also celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary in Rome with a ceremonial welcome at the Palazzo Quirinale.

Reuters reports that King Charles was briefly hospitalized on Thursday, Mar. 27, 2025, after reportedly experiencing side effects from his ongoing cancer treatment. Engagements scheduled for the subsequent day were canceled as a precautionary measure.
A royal source told Reuters the king experienced a hiccup in his cancer recovery. They told Reuters Charles’ hospitalization was the “most minor bump in the road that’s very much heading in the right direction.”
A palace spokesperson subsequently revealed, “His Majesty was due to receive credentials from the ambassadors of three different nations this afternoon. Tomorrow, he was due to undertake four public engagements in Birmingham and is greatly disappointed to be missing them on this occasion.”
“He very much hopes that they can be rescheduled in due course. He offers his deepest apologies to all those who had worked so hard to make the planned visit possible.”
This health hiccup comes just over a year after Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer. He has been receiving treatment since February 2024.
