Clare Crawley Says She Warned ‘The Bachelor’ Producers About Matt James
Former Bachelor lead Matt James might be laying low following his breakup with Rachael Kirkconnell, but that doesn’t mean everyone else isn’t talking about it. Kirkconnell’s podcast interview shed much light on what went wrong. Now, other members of Bachelor Nation are weighing in. Clare Crawley took to Instagram to take a subtle dig at James, insisting she warned the production team about him.

Clare Crawley told the production team Matt James didn’t want a serious relationship
Matt James shocked Bachelor Nation when he announced he had split from Rachael Kirkconnell after four years together. The breakup occurred while the pair was vacationing together, leaving Kirkconnell blindsided.
Kirkconnell recently appeared on Call Her Daddy and recounted the breakup. She revealed that James had called it quits after years together because he said he couldn’t see himself marrying his longtime love. The duo never lived together. Despite meeting on a show that almost always ends in engagement, no matter how short-lived, they were never engaged.
Kirkconnell tried to remain pretty civil in her podcast interview about the end of her romance with James. Other members of Bachelor Nation aren’t being as polite. Former Bachelorette lead Clare Crawley insists she knew James wasn’t looking for marriage all along.
Crawley took to Instagram to suddenly shade James. The Bachelorette alum shared an Instagram story that revealed she had asked producers not to cast one contestant on her season, only for him to pop up as the lead on The Bachelor.

Crawley went on to say that she told the production team that she knew for a fact that the man in question wasn’t looking for a serious relationship and didn’t want to entertain him. While Crawley didn’t name any names, there was only one person she could be talking about. Everyone knows Crawley was shading Matt James. The story has since expired.
Crawley didn’t explain how she knew James wasn’t in it for a forever love. James was initially slated to appear as a contestant on Crawley’s complicated and strange Bachelorette season. The network has long claimed COVID-19 delays led to James’ lack of involvement, but Crawley insists that is not the case. Crawley only appeared in four episodes of The Bachelorette before picking a winner and departing the series. Tayshia Adams took over as the lead. James never appeared but was named the next bachelor during the show’s run.
