Wicked‘s film adaptation, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, is set to hit Peacock. When does ‘Wicked’ premiere on Peacock?

Peacock has announced that Wicked will premiere on the streaming service on Friday, March 21. The film, featuring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, originally hit theaters in November 2024.

According to NBC Insider, Wicked‘s Peacock premiere will allow subscribers access to extra content. Some of these features were previously seen on television and others were made for theatrical release.

In addition to a sing-along version of the film and a series of deleted and extended scenes, Peacock subscribers can also watch the NBC special Defying Gravity: The Curtain Rises on Wicked will make its Peacock debut. It follows Erivo and Grande as they discuss the process of making Wicked, featuring the actors’ behind-the-scenes footage from the set. The duo chats with Wicked cast members, including Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum. 

Peacock will also stream Making Wicked, a look at how the conception, design, and choreography that went into adapting the film.

Director Jon M. Chu’s Wicked film adaptation allows for the hit Broadway musical to be fleshed out like never before. Wicked‘s second installment is called Wicked: For Good, drawing its name from the hit song “Defying Gravity” that closed out part one. Glinda has elevated her position to Glinda the Good and Fiyero takes the role of the wizard’s guard in their quest to capture Elphaba.

But as Elphaba remains on the run from the Wizard, Fiyero joins her. The musical reveals that Madam Morrible and the Wizard plan to put Nessarose in danger so Elphaba returns to Oz, leading to the tornado that kills Nessarose which opens the 1939 film.

Wicked debuts on Peacock on March 21. The second installment hits theaters on Nov. 21, 2025.
