5 Easter Movies You Can Stream for Free in 2025
When it comes to holidays on the big screen, Easter doesn’t get nearly the same attention as Christmas and Halloween. But the spring celebration has still produced some memorable flicks, from beloved (and sometimes controversial) takes on the life and death of Jesus to kid-friendly movies that are perfect for casual family viewing.
While you’ll need a Netflix subscription to stream the 2018 animated hit Peter Rabbit or Mel Gibson’s bloody blockbuster The Passion of the Christ, other Easter movies are available to watch for free on services like Pluto TV and Tubi. So, save your hard-earned dollars for more chocolate bunnies or pricy eggs and enjoy these free-to-stream Easter movies in 2025.
‘The Gospel According to St. Matthew’
There’s no shortage of cinematic depictions of Jesus Christ. But Pier Paolo Pasolini’s 1965 Italian neorealist film The Gospel According to St. Matthew is widely regarded as one of the best interpretations of the millennia-old story, though Pasolini himself was a non-believer. Filmed on location in Italy with a cast of non-professional actors, the movie closely follows the text of the gospel and presents Jesus as a radical who challenged the ideas of the society in which he lived.
The Gospel According to St. Matthew is streaming on Xumo Play, Tubi, and for free on Prime Video.

‘On a Wing and Prayer’
Dennis Quaid, Heather Graham, and Jesse Metcalfe star in this faith-based film about a man who is having a crisis of faith. When the pilot of the private plane he and his family are traveling on dies mid-flight, he must step up to save his family on Easter Sunday.

Unfortunately, the nefarious January Q. Irontail wants to seize the Easter Bunny role for his own cruel purposes.
