The Stiller family has been a staple in Hollywood for decades. Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, who married in 1955, both had great acting success. Their son, Ben Stiller, has carried on the family legacy with plenty of movie hits, too. Now, there is a new generation looking to carry on the legacy.
After graduating from The Juilliard School, Ben Stiller’s daughter entered the industry. Ella Stiller’s first TV credit will come on a franchise her grandmother worked on decades ago; she is set to appear in season 3 of And Just Like That...

Ella Stiller will appear in ‘And Just Like That…’ Season 3
Season 3 of And Just Like That… still doesn’t have a release date, but more details about the upcoming season are being shared. Last month, Kristin Davis revealed that Ella Stiller, the daughter of Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, will appear in the series.
Davis shared the big news on her podcast, Are You a Charlotte?. Christine Taylor appeared on the podcast as a guest. While Davis didn’t reveal what role the younger Stiller will take in season 3, she raved about working with her. Davis insisted she was a “trooper” while filming before gushing over Stiller’s talent.
Anne Meara appeared in ‘Sex and the City’
Ella Stiller isn’t the first member of her family to work on the infamous franchise. Her grandmother, Anne Meara, first appeared in Sex in the City in 2002, the same year Ella Stiller was born. Meara famously portrayed Mary Brady, Steve Brady’s mother, in later seasons of the series. She appeared in four episodes in total.
Meara did not appear in the movies that followed the famed series, although her character was mentioned in Sex and the City: The Movie. While some fans believe Meara had given up acting by the time the first movie was filmed, that appears to be untrue. She filmed a pilot that did not sell in 2011, years after Sex and the City: The Movie was released.
Meara died in 2015 at the age of 85. Her husband, Jerry Stiller, died in 2020 at the age of 92. Jerry Stiller, famous for playing Arthur Spooner on The King of Queens, never appeared in Sex and the City, despite rumors.
