‘Farmer Wants a Wife’: One Dater Quits After Suspecting Her Farmer of an Off-Screen Hookup
There’s drama down on the farm. In the April 10 episode of Fox’s Farmer Wants a Wife, an empty bed and an awkward denial led one of Matt’s daters to self-eliminate when she became convinced the California avocado farmer wasn’t telling the whole truth about his relationship with Halleh.
Rachel shares her suspicions about Matt in ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ Season 3 Episode 4
Rachel, 25, is one of five women Matt invited to join him on his farm in season 3 of the reality dating series. But with multiple ladies all competing for the same guy’s heart, things are bound to get awkward. That’s exactly what happened in episode 4, when Rachel woke up and realized Hallah, one of Matt’s other daters, wasn’t in her bed.
Rachel, a lash tech from Queens, New York, immediately assumed the worst. She thought Halleh and Matt were canoodling somewhere off-camera.
“My gut feeling is that, maybe, she was probably sneaking off to maybe see Matt,” Rachel said. “Because I feel like they’ve been eyeing each other differently when we’re around them, so I feel like it’s possible. Where else would she have gone?”
Rachel went on to say that she had a “bad track record” with men, which contributed to her trust issues. She felt Halleh was scheming to get more alone time with Matt, which would give her an edge when it came time for him to decide which ladies he was going to send home.
Halleh and Matt deny they were sneaking around
Rachel’s imagination quickly went into overdrive as she imagined what Halleh and Matt might be getting up to when no one was watching.
“I’m not dumb,” she said. “Someone’s been been sneaking out and things are not really adding up. We’re confused, we’re hurt, we feel betrayed. So hopefully we get some honesty today.”
During a trip to Tennessee with the rest of the Farmer Wants a Wife cast, Matt sat down with the women and attempted to defuse the situation.
“Nothing happened. I don’t know what else to tell you guys. I could see why you think that and why it looked like that, but that’s also not the case,” he said.
Halleh also denied she’d been with Matt during the time she was missing from her bed. She said she got up to journal and watch the sunrise. The 29-year-old from Albuquerque also said Rachel’s suspicions were “really hurtful” but that she didn’t care if the other women wanted to be friends with her.
Rachel wasn’t convinced. “The story don’t make sense,” she declared. “Never did.”
When Matt and Halleh shared a dance, it only confirmed Rachel’s suspicions that the two had a deeper connection than they were letting on. She pulled Matt aside and let him know she had decided to go home.
“I just don’t like it, and it doesn’t give me a good feeling staying here to try with someone that I truly believe was with somebody else sneaking out and stuff,” she said. “So I don’t see myself staying on the farm anymore.”
Farmer Wants a Wife airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Fox. Episodes stream the next day on Hulu.
