Is she in it for love or fame? That was the question some viewers were asking after Jordyn Mallory whipped out her guitar to serenade bachelor Matt Warren in the season 3 premiere of Fox’s reality dating series Farmer Wants a Wife.

Jordyn, 32, charmed Matt, 30, with her song. Their connection was obvious, so it was no huge surprise that she was one of five women Matt invited back to his farm in California. Matt also chose Jordyn for his first solo date.

During her one-on-one time with the avocado farmer, Jordyn opened up about her desire for a quiet life in the country while also getting out of her comfort zone by trying oysters for the first time. But once the other ladies arrived on Matt’s farm, she began to worry she might not be able to hold his attention.

“Matt and I had this amazing first date,” she said. “But the girls are here now. It’s not my personality to be aggressive with taking someone’s attention or stealing them away. So, it’s kind of hard for me.”

Jordyn says she hopes she can find love on reality TV

Despite her concerns, Jordyn has emerged as an early frontrunner for Farmer Matt’s heart in Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3. But some fans are skeptical of her motives. Jordyn’s not just a single woman looking for love. She’s also a country singer who made it to Hollywood Week on American Idol Season 11 and released her album, Hearts and Horses, just a few days before the season 3 premiere. When she took to social media to answer viewer questions on April 3, she acknowledged that many people wondered if she signed on to the show to boost her career.

“Did you really go on the show to find love?? Or are you using the show for publicity?” one person asked.

“This was a popular question,” Jordyn said in a video posted on her Instagram Story. “I came on the show for love. My biggest dream is to have a family. And I was ready to find my person and start a family. So I thought, why not? I feel like I’m such a hopeless romantic that finding love on reality TV, you can do that.”

Farmer Wants a Wife airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox. Episodes stream the next day on Hulu.
