When Gia Giudice, the daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice, posted about her upcoming Bravo series, people filled the comments with distaste. Commentators went after her about a number of different things, from her parents’ legal troubles to her appearance. Giudice later took to the platform to defend herself.

Gia Giudice defended herself against social media users calling out her looks, taxes, and show

In April, Giudice posted a brief TikTok announcing her upcoming Bravo series, Next Gen NYC. While some fans celebrated the news, the comments were full of irritated RHONY fans. Some called Giudice out for not seemingly not using her college degree, others called her entitled, some criticized her looks, and many more drew attention to her mother’s tax problems. Teresa Giudice and her husband, Luis Ruelas, owe over $3 million to the state of New Jersey.

In a follow-up TikTok, Giudice addressed many of the comments. She said that her parents’ prison sentences for bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud happened 10 years ago and confirmed that she files her taxes. She also claimed she’s never had filler, highlighted her college degree in criminal justice, and expressed her desire for people to just be happy for her.

Unfortunately for Giudice, the video’s comments show that she did not win over most of her detractors.

Gia Giudice said she’s not worried about her mother’s tax problems

In March, news broke that Teresa and Luis owed over $3 million in taxes. Per the Daily Mail, Teresa owes $303,889.20 in unpaid taxes and Luis owes a whopping $2,569,842.06. They also owe an additional $163,523.94 on a 2024 tax lien. If they do not pay, the government will be able to seize their assets.

Giudice discussed the news on her podcast, Casual Chaos.

“My mom has been the sole provider for my sisters and I since the minute my father left for prison,” she said.

She added that her mother has been “working her a** off to make sure that my sisters and I live a stable life and that my family is financially stable.”

Giudice claimed she has no concerns about her mother’s ability to handle the situation.

“Everything will be resolved,” she said. “My mom has everything under control and there’s nothing to worry about.”

She added that her stepfather is also working to resolve the issue.

“My stepdad, Luis, is the most amazing stepfather,” she said. “He treats my sisters and I like we are his own. He is also working on getting everything resolved as well.”

She said fans had nothing to worry about and that the family was doing “perfectly fine.”

She will appear in an upcoming Bravo series

Giudice has spent much of her life on reality television, but she now has the opportunity to appear in a show of her own. Next Gen NYC will follow twenty-somethings in New York. A number of the cast members have previously appeared on other Bravo shows.
