Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s love story stands out from the world of Hollywood hookups and whirlwind romances. The couple is rooted not just in music, but in faith. The pop-punk queen and the country crooner may come from different worlds, but their shared spiritual connection has become the heart of their relationship. Stefani and Shelton were spotted heading to church for Easter Sunday. Unfortunately, fans can’t stop tearing apart Stefani for her partnership with a Catholic prayer app.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were spotted heading to church on Easter Sunday

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton headed to church to celebrate Easter on Sunday, April 20, 2025. DailyMail.com shared a photo showing the couple heading to Mass in Los Angeles. Stefani wore a cream suit with a white undershirt and a complementary pink purse. Her hair looked freshly bleached. As for Shelton, he wore a blazer with an untucked button-up shirt and jeans.

Stefani posted an Instagram reel of footage from Easter in Oklahoma. She and Shelton visited the chapel where they tied the knot and spotted purple irises. Stefani’s son, Apollo, helped her pick the irises and bring them back to the house, where she placed them in a vase next to decorative Easter eggs. Additional footage shows Stefani decorating the house with white blooming flowers on small tree branches from the yard.

“My purple irises are just in time for Easter,” she captioned the post, “a little reminder that everything blooms when it’s ready.”

Stefani doesn’t mind sharing her personal life with her followers. However, she received strong criticism for her partnership with Hallow, a Catholic prayer and meditation app. In March 2025, Stefani posted another ad for Hallow as Lent approached. Additionally, fans grew upset when Stefani shared a Tucker Carlson interview with Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in The Chosen.

“A pay to pray app,” Selling Sunset‘s Chrishell Stause commented on Stefani’s Hallow post with a cringe emoji.

“Who is this and what have you done with the real Gwen?!!” a fan commented. “This cannot be real. Not only she just makes music to match her husband’s but now she seems like such a Republican. Back then I don’t think Gwen would have ever been this person. What the heck happened. This is sad [sic].”

Gwen Stefani received a marriage annulment from the Catholic Church before tying the knot again

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s divorce in 2015 marked the end of one of rock’s most stylish power couples. After nearly 13 years of marriage, infidelity rumors and conflicting lifestyles reportedly strained their relationship. While the breakup was painful, Stefani has since spoken openly about the heartbreak and how it ultimately led her to healing, growth, and a new chapter with Blake Shelton.

Before Stefani and Shelton tied the knot, she had her first marriage annulled by the Catholic Church. A declaration of nullity for Stefani declares that her first marriage to Rossdale was never valid. The Catholic Church granted Stefani’s wish in 2021.

“Gwen was told the decision was made by the Vatican tribunal,” an insider told Us Weekly. “She will be receiving the notification in writing in the next few weeks, but it’s official.” The source added that Stefani felt “huge relief” with the annulment, as she wanted to have her marriage to Shelton recognized by the church.

Blake Shelton started seeing the ‘God in everything’ after meeting the pop-punk sensation

Blake Shelton said Gwen Stefani helped him access his faith.

“I think that under the circumstances that Gwen and I fell in love with each other and got together was all the proof I needed,” Shelton said at the 2022 Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, according to Taste of Country. “She has such a strong faith in God. That’s No. 1 in her life and has been her whole life. She doesn’t beat you over the head with it — she would never do that. That’s her relationship.”

Shelton added that he now sees “the God in everything” thanks to Stefani. “Of course, that starts bleeding into my records and my music, and next thing you know, I’m recording songs and writing songs about faith and God,” he said.
