Hallmark is serving up another helping of its newest original series. The network has renewed The Chicken Sisters for season 2, it announced Monday.

David James Elliott joins ‘The Chicken Sisters’ Season 2 cast
The Chicken Sisters is based on the best-selling book of the same name by KJ Dell’Antonia. It stars Lea Thompson and Wendie Malick as Nancy and Gus, the owners of rival small-town fried chicken restaurants. The show debuted in September 2024 on Hallmark’s streaming service, Hallmark+. Episodes began airing on Hallmark Channel in March 2025.
JAG’s David James Elliott will be joining the show’s cast in a recurring role for its second season, Deadline reports. He’ll play a person from Gus’ past who shows up in Merinac.
New season of ‘The Chicken Sisters’ is filming now

Production on the new episodes of The Chicken Sisters is now underway in Vancouver. On April 7, cast member Schuyler Fisk, who plays Amanda, shared a quick video of herself in her trailer on her Instagram Story.
“Very grateful,” she wrote in another post. “Chicken Sisters season [2] let’s gooo.”
“Chicken sisters forever,” Fisk’s co-star Genevieve Angelson, who plays Mae, wrote on her Instagram Story.
The Chicken Sisters Season 2 will follow Amanda, Mae, Nancy, and Gus as they face a new rival when an outpost of a fried chicken restaurant chain sets up shop on Merinac’s Main Street.
The Chicken Sisters is now streaming on Hallmark+. Episodes also air on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel.
