Hugh Jackman Likely to Be Deposed in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Lawsuit
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s case heads to trial in March 2026. Lively alleged sexual harassment against the It Ends With Us director and actor, and she also claimed that Baldoni orchestrated a smear campaign to harm her reputation. Baldoni countersued with a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. According to Baldoni, Reynolds and Lively defamed and extorted him, resulting in the total collapse of his career. Now, reports suggest Hugh Jackman is in the mix. Here’s why lawyers might want his deposition.
Lawyers will likely depose Hugh Jackman in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ‘It Ends With Us’ case
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are in the midst of a difficult legal battle after filming It Ends With Us. The co-stars had noticeable tension once the movie released. After Lively fired shots first with her lawsuit against Baldoni, he countered, alleging extortion and defamation. Baldoni is also suing The New York Times for libel. The publication released a story of Lively’s claims in December 2024.
As both parties enter the discovery process of their cases, Hugh Jackman might receive a call. According to In Touch Weekly, Jackman worked closely with Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool & Wolverine when Lively and Baldoni were filming It Ends With Us. This puts Jackman in the position of potentially giving a deposition.
“Hugh will be deposed if this goes to trial,” an insider told DailyMail.com. “There is no way that he cannot. Baldoni’s legal team is doing everything they need to do to get a full scope of Ryan’s conduct during the time that It Ends with Us was filmed. As Ryan’s good friend, who starred in the film and was with Blake and Ryan many times in private during that time, his deposition will likely be crucial. They are not going to leave any stone unturned.”
Another insider told In Touch Weekly that Jackman will help Reynolds and Lively in the case. “If this actually goes all the way to court and Hugh is forced to take the stand, there’s no question he will step up,” the source explained. “At this point, Ryan is like a brother to him; he will have his back no matter what it takes.”
