Jenelle Evans Calls 911 on Jace Evans: A Look Back at His Custody Situation
Jenelle Evans has custody of all three of her children at the moment. While she might consider that a win, it doesn’t sound like things are going smoothly in the Las Vegas rental property they call home. The former Teen Mom 2 star called 911 over the weekend to ask for police assistance with her teen son, Jace Evans. The 911 call is not the first of its kind. In fact, it is just one of several calls she’s placed about the teen since regaining custody just two years ago. Let’s take a look back at Jace Evans’ custody situation.
Jenelle Evans seeks assistance from police
Jenelle Evans is no stranger to 911 calls. While living with David Eason, dozens of calls for help were placed from her property. Her move to Las Vegas didn’t stop the need for emergency services. Jenelle’s ex-boyfriend, August Keen, called 911 on his then-partner more than once. Now, Jenelle has enlisted the Las Vegas Police Department to help with her son, Jace.
The Ashley Reality Roundup Group reports that Jenelle Evans placed a frantic 911 call over the weekend. In the recording obtained by the outlet, Jenelle tells a dispatcher that her teen son was on a rampage, breaking items in the house. She said he was threatening to leave and that she did not believe drugs or alcohol were involved. Police were dispatched, but Jace had left the area by the time they arrived.
Jenelle Evans has placed several 911 calls about Jace Evans
Jenelle Evans has called the police on her teenage son several times since regaining custody of him in March 2023. After being awarded custody of the teen, a move her mother, Barbara Evans, approved, she posted to Facebook claiming she was finally getting her “happy ending.” The happy part of it all didn’t last long.
By August 2023, Evans started calling the police on her teen son, often reporting him as a runaway. There were several incidents while he was living with his mother in North Carolina. He was later removed from the home after David Eason, Jenelle’s then-husband, physically attacked the teen. Jace was briefly placed back into the care of Barbara Evans, but an additional runaway attempt prompted further CPS involvement.
Jace returned to his mother in early 2024, just a few months before the family moved to Las Vegas. Initially, reports suggested that Jace, who was 14 at the time, wasn’t thrilled with the move. It appears those reports may have been correct. Since the May 2024 move, there have been reports of issues at school and additional 911 calls. In October 2024, Evans called 911, claiming her teenage son was destroying the rental property. The Ashley Reality Roundup Group reported on the incident. The October 2024 call is eerily similar to the most recent distress call from the home.
It is unclear where Jace Evans is or what Jenelle Evans plans to do about the teen’s current situation. Barbara Evans, who still lives in North Carolina, has remained quiet about the situation. She reportedly does have contact with the teen, though.
Where did Jace Evans live before 2023?
Jenelle Evans regained custody of Jace Evans in March 2023. He was already 13 years old by then, but it was the first time since he was an infant that Jenelle had custody of the boy. Jace spent most of his life in the care of Barbara Evans, Jenelle’s mother.

Jenelle signed over temporary custody of a then-infant Jace in 2010 amid significant substance abuse issues. She was arrested more than a dozen times while Jace was young and still in the care of Barbara Evans. While Jenelle sought to regain custody of Jace several times, a judge felt he was better off with his maternal grandmother until 2023.
Jace’s father, Andrew Lewis, had no contact with the teen until recently. Andrew resurfaced in recent years and is believed to have connected with Jace, but it’s unclear if they are still in contact.
