Jim Bob Duggar Buys $1 Million House for Anna Duggar After Walmart Pays Him Nearly $5 Million for Land

In the wake of Josh Duggar’s arrest and conviction, the Duggar family’s famously tight-knit dynamic has faced one of its most public reckonings. Anna Duggar resides at the center of it, navigating the aftermath alongside a fractured support system. Once portrayed as a steadfast daughter-in-law within Jim Bob Duggar’s carefully curated world, Anna’s relationship with the family patriarch has reportedly grown more strained. However, a recent report suggests Jim Bob bought a $1 million home. And it might go to Anna and her seven children.

Jim Bob Duggar bought a $1 million home after a hefty payout from Walmart — and it’ll likely go to Anna Duggar

Anna Duggar relied on Josh Duggar as her support system as she raised their seven children. Unfortunately for Anna, she’s now on her own, as Josh will not be released from prison until October 2032. Anna reportedly lives in a warehouse on the Duggar family compound in Tontitown, Arkansas. However, her circumstances may change. According to a post from Duggar Family News, Jim Bob Duggar bought a $1 million home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The report notes Jim Bob will likely give the home to Anna.

The 6,318-square-foot house sits on a 10-acre lot and has six bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. The home also reportedly comes with a whirlpool bathtub and walk-in closets. Jim Bob has not announced who the home is for.

On April 1, 2025, In Touch Weekly reported that Walmart paid Jim Bob big bucks for land. A Walmart store in Bentonville, Arkansas, purchased property in Tontitown, Arkansas, linked to the Duggar patriarch. This gave Jim Bob the money to buy the $1 million home in Fayetteville.

“Walmart paid $4.7 million for slightly more than 16 acres on West Henri De Tonti Road, lots the Duggars had acquired for $600,000,” the Arkansas Business report reads. “The land is adjacent to Champions Motorcars, which is owned by the Duggars.”

Anna Duggar reportedly still lives in the Duggar family warehouse

Eagle-eyed Duggar family viewers figured out that Josh and Anna Duggar were living in a warehouse on Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s property before Josh’s arrest. Anna seems to still reside there years after Josh’s imprisonment began. She also homeschools all seven of her kids.

While Anna still lives on her in-laws’ property, she reportedly gets out to socialize. “Anna has been seen bringing her sons to basketball games weekly and watching them play from the stands,” a source told The U.S. Sun in December 2024. “She socializes with people and appears to have made friends with basketball parents.” 

Additionally, Anna reportedly regularly visits Josh at his federal prison in Texas.

“We’ve seen Anna at visitation fairly regularly,” another source previously told the publication. “I’ve spoken to Anna a couple of times. Normally, the only thing I’ve seen is Anna and then their kids; I don’t really know anybody else.”

Josh Duggar will allegedly not live in the home with his kids upon his release

Josh Duggar was sentenced on May 25, 2022, to 151 months in federal prison. He was convicted on two counts of receiving and possessing child pornography. The charges stemmed from his 2019 use of a work computer at a car dealership he owned in Arkansas to download explicit material involving minors as young as 18 months old.

In May 2022, Josh was sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison. During the sentencing, the judge criticized the severity of the materials and Duggar’s calculated efforts to avoid detection. In addition to his prison sentence, Josh was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and will face 20 years of supervised release after leaving prison. During this period, he is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with minors, including his own children.

The Duggar Family News release regarding Jim Bob’s new home purchase states Josh will not live on the property if Anna and their seven children move in. With this in mind, Josh may stay on the Duggar family compound with his mom and dad.
