Jinger Vuolo‘s immediate family is much smaller than the one she grew up in. Jinger, who grew up in front of cameras on 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On, welcomed her first son on March 29.

Duggar family followers primarily remember her antics on the Duggar family compound in Arkansas. Now, as a wife and mother of three, most of her life happens on the West Coast. She returns to Arkansas when she can, where most of her siblings still live — but she has a bit of a conundrum. Jinger is forced, during each visit, to try to remember the names of more than 30 nieces and nephews. She recently admitted she doesn’t always get it right, and the Duggar grandchildren count is constantly growing.

The Duggar siblings insisted they grew up close, often taking care of each other. Things are different now, though. Now that most siblings are adults with their own lives, they aren’t all as connected. Jinger Vuolo revealed that while she tries to keep up with her siblings, she naturally gravitates towards the older girls and is more connected to them, and one brother, who she says calls often. That dynamic seems to extend to her siblings’ children, too. Jinger revealed that she has difficulty keeping all her nieces and nephews’ names straight.

During a recent episode of her podcast, The Jinger and Jeremy Podcast, Jinger admitted that she doesn’t know all the names of her nieces and nephews. She said there are a “few” that she has a hard time remembering, specifically the younger ones. Jinger insists it isn’t for lack of trying; there are just too many kids. It is only going to get more complicated. The family is expanding all the time.

How many Duggar grandchildren are there now?

The Duggar family is growing all the time. When Counting On went off the air in 2021, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar had welcomed their 20th grandchild. Now, four years later, nearly 40 Duggar grandchildren are running around. During a recent podcast episode, Jinger revealed that there are 39 grandchildren within the family, and there are more to come.

The number might seem inflated to some Duggar family followers. That is because the count likely includes some unknown babies. While many of the Duggar kids have opted to remain in the public eye since walking away from Counting On, a handful have decided privacy is more their speed. Joseph and Kendra Duggar, who welcomed Duggar grandchild #20 on the last episode of Counting On, welcomed at least one more child since then. They stopped making public announcements.

Josiah and Lauren Duggar have welcomed three children since the show’s end. They allowed the birth of their first daughter, Bella, to air on Counting On, but Duggar family followers only know about their additional children from other family events. Justin and Claire Duggar may have also quietly welcomed a child. The pair, who married in 2021, have abandoned their social media accounts. Officially, the family has announced the birth of 33 children, with two more on the way.
